Apparently, their bonds forged from the HGW is so shallow they'd go for other dudes because they don't want to wait for Shirou. And author, if your interpretation of a character with depth and has their own thoughts and feelings is having them sleep with someone else, then you're right, this story ain't for me. Too bad, this was one of my favorite fanfic and you decided to sneak in that NTR bulsht. Goodbye, and I hope if you've ever been into a relationship don't have your partner sleep with other dudes. When you advertise a story as Protagonist/Multi, that in no way translates to "it's an open relationship and they'll all be fucking randos on the side". If you're going to write that, then be honest about it from the start. Don't add a bunch of subversive shit several hundred thousand words in and get pissy that the readers don't like it. You knew they wouldn't like this, and you knew the story wouldn't get this much engagement if you laid this out at the start of the story. My advice? Turn off guest reviews and force them to say shit themselves. And then ban the fuckers.

Was a nice idea to portray the whole thing from an outside observers POV, makes his feats seem all the more impressive. Though admittedly it feels kind of anticlimactic for Kyoko to die like that. On the other hand, that was probably the point. Shirou wanted to avoid dragging this out, which would include avoiding unnecessary casualties or risks.

Nice bit of exposition here. Learned a bit more of why the bitch has such a hate boner for a guy she never even met. And that bit about Haruka’s connection to her was interesting. Adds a bit more to her character.
Looking forward to the retribution from a pissed off Shirou. She didn’t just poke the hornets nest, she swung a baseball bat around a grove full of them.

Aftermath chapter. The girls are understandably spooked, and Naru in particular is scared of her landlord. Makes sense given her past experience. Of course Kaolla is weirdly accepting of the whole thing, which hints her country has a few supernatural elements to it.
A bit concerned as to what Kitsune would need to go through to meet a doctor like that though.

And oh so cathartic to see those bastards get massacred like that. Especially seeing Shirou verbally owning his bitch of a relative. Who I am very much looking forward to seeing get a nice, cold dish of vengeful karma.

Now I don't care if the girls have partners who isn't Shirou, but I DO care if that partner is a rando. They have a special bond that was forged in the Hell of the HGW, and throwing in a rando just cheapen it all, just because they couldn't keep it in their pants. Yes, that goes to Shirou and his 'irrelevant' woman as well.

Like...to me, getting into that group is a special privilege. You have to earn it first.

Your open 'relationship' here feels really cheap, is all. And if your definition of 'people in their own right' is to have them sleeping around because they can't wait to see their partner again? Then yeah, this story is not for me. A person in their own right is more than just sex.

Fair warning for people who haven't read Chapter 34 (It's quite easy to find even if you aren't a patron or on their discord). Yes, there is some very light "NTR" that is very distastefully played as comedy.

Rin sleeps with someone else, yes it isn't given much focus and is instead played as comedy with said person exclaiming "YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND!?" but it is honestly quite appalling as to how it is handled. This fic was marketed as Shirou/Multi and yet it wasn't made clear from the get go that they are in an open relationship, which in hindsight led to the backlash.

Polygamy between the Rin/Rider/Sakura/Shiorou would've been fine, even if Shirou wasn't there but sleeping around is just going to feel like cheating no matter how you word it.

Now as for open relationships, it is quite honestly a toxic relationship and will eventually lead to one of the two developing jealousy. I should know, I've been in one and I suppose that appeal with it to women is that they get to feel affection from more men/women than they would otherwise get from just one. It is somewhat of a reverse harem I suppose as most women generally hold most of the power in open relationships and would feel a sense of control over it. That is until they don't. They get to sleep around and it's all fine, but the moment they realize that you have more men and women on speed dial than they could find in a year and they want to close it.

And even when you do close it, they'll change, they start getting more possessive and jealous, every night out with female friends becomes a fight and even hanging out with the guys becomes a point of contention if you're like me who is willing to sleep with both men and women anyways.

Eventually it'll get too much and no matter how much you reaffirm your affection to her, she'll snap at you for "flirting" with the nice waitress. Which will, not always, but in my case it did; inevitably lead to a massive breakup with her calling every single mutual friend to try and ruin you.

So words of advise for anyone reading this, and sides with the author and think open relationships are good and can work, it's not, I assure you, it's not. Stick to monogamy, or if you ever discover yourself to be poly then make sure that everyone in that relationship loves each other rather than just one loving another.

Heterosexual relationships are not power-equal, Women being the gate-keepers & "Mother's Baby, Father's Maybe" makes it that way.
