Hello, I know it’s been years since you updated this story, I just wanted to say that this is the only fanfic I ever printed out to read in my free time, because I remember how beautifully well written it was, how it captivated 12-year-old me. I don’t know where those papers are now, but I re-read this whole fic and the writing is just as beautiful and compelling as I remember. The way you write Hermione’s parents is just perfect - their outrage and fear and eventual begrudging understanding is wonderfully conveyed and realistic. The Dursleys are immaculate - while it’s easy to portray them are cartoon villains, you managed to give them depth and realistic character while still staying true to canon and still making it very clear that regardless of reasons, they’re still terrible, terrible people. Petunia and Lily’s relationship breakdown is so tragic, how they used to be thick as thieves until Lily was revealed to be magic.

Honestly, reading this with the benefit of another decade really helps because one can draw parallels with Mirabel from Encanto.

Anyway, just thought I’d come back after many years and say that. Best of luck to you, wherever you are or whatever you’re doing.

This is honestly the FIRST time I have ever seen someone put the blame on Harry being place with Petunia on Lily. The First and ONLY time.

The Dursleys' reactions were perfectly believable.
How Albus reacts to the knowledge of what he did to Harry? How in the name of heck could he regret many times what he did when he only Just Now found out how the Durselys' treated him?
I guess cannonically that is .. accurate .. The only difference is the cannon Albus Never found out how the Durselys' actually treated Harry .

I always assumed that the Grangers didn't pull Hermione out of Hogwarts because they Did Not Know that it had happened. No one in the magical world told them about it and the adults involved had no interest in informing them of the event.
Weather this was malicious to muggles or not can be debated but if my daughter was placed in that kind of danger she would be pulled out of school faster than you could say "You let a WHAT in the school?"

You have created an amazing twist on the world and I am really hoping that you will have an update to this story even after all this time. It’s a great writing style and the plot is strong, I really want to see how your take on the bond with work for Hr/Ha and how it will grow.

Redeeming the dursleys oh please they can't, and it would be very unwise if hermione would go there it would not go over well with her parents if they discover that.
And ron will be less a friend cause i can't see staying around them.

I really hope you update this eventually. So far this is great.
