Such a dramatic chapter! Although it was funny when Elena and Klaus were racing to see who'd get to Caroline first, including both getting stuck in the doorway.

I love the composition of the story. I know it's more of a structural/technical thing, but since you know how much I adore your portrayal of the characters, and the plot, too, I may as well gush over your technique. If you haven't read all the literary theories so far (I suppose you didn't because it's so boring you might puke rainbow), then you are just innately talented, because your style could be analyzed by the literary critiques and I'm sure they would gush over you as much as I do.

OMG! You can't leave it there! DAmn girl! :). Well I'm partial to this story too. It is sooo funny that I laugh out loud but there is this underlying sadness. I don't understand why they would be pissed at Elena for trying to find the book? Especially if she is trying to save them. Elijah and Elena need to get on with it Elijah's rollerskates! Damon is a slut :).

Oh wow, this fic is so funny and wonderful and awesome and heartbreaking all at the same time. I just can't stop reading.

I wouldn't mind to read a whole book about Rebekah taking driving lessons, it's awesome. I don't know where you got the idea, but I love it.

The Originals are just so wonderful together in this fic. Loving, annoying and stupid, just like real brothers and sisters can be.

I have to say that I adore this story. It's is funny and original. And I can't wait to read more. I'm wondering what happened with Elijah and Caroline: my favorite part would be the one where Klaus and Elena race to get to her. And the 'beard-brothers'-thing? Brilliant.

Great as always. Made me giggle despite the seriousness of the situation. But I'm still kinda unclear about what the plan was for and what Elena was looking for.

That being said, this was an amazing chapter, filled with its usual poignancy and hilarity.

Favorites:

- "What happened to You drive, I drive?" Damon says.

Stefan stares at his brother. "Isn't that a Bieber song?"

- "Operation: Dick?"

- "Damon, you slut," she cries, choking on lace and chartreuse.

"Oops." Damon's by her side immediately, but not to help her to her feet as she'd assumed. Her hand flails uselessly in the air as Damon scoops the thong up and nonchalantly flicks it out his open window. "Alaric must have left it here."

- "Kol picked up a few pirating skills from Finn," Stefan says. (HELL YES HE DID.)

- "Beard brothers," Stefan shrugs. (I really wish I knew the first thing about photoshop so I could make that manip for you.)

- The whole thing about the carpet. I almost cried laughing.

- Caroline and Elijah cooking. Before it got all horror movie.

- "Damon told Kol," Klaus drawls, and throws her a look as though it was quite obvious. "And Kol made a vlog about it and uploaded it onto his YouTube account." (Kol would totally be YouTube famous.)

- ...and Klaus is this close to reminding her he still has other methods of ripping her heart out and Elena's this close to telling him he has a stupid haircut...

Which brings us to my final point:

Screw you and your talent.

Oh God this fic...this is more than just a fanfic, this is an exemplary piece of creative writing. I read this initially as a funny crack fic about Rebekah learning to drive, but honestly this has grown into so much more. The innovative decisions you've made with non linear storytelling while still maintaining a coherent flow have made this so interesting to read, it stands out on a truly high level.

I must also commend you on your ability to weave together the drama of the three different couples, with the side characters as well, this has clearly become the best ensemble piece in the category. I read this initially for Klaus and Caroline but you've turned me into a Stebekah and Elejah shipper. Rebekah is presented so beautifully in this fic, all the vulnerability of being a seventeen year old girl who has lived (but not really lived) for a thousand years is clear and it makes her so strong and her and Stefan are just perfect to read, even in their struggles. And Elena and Elijah are so quiet and strong together that reading them as a burgeoning couple is a delight. Klaus and Caroline are of course perfect in every way.

What I also love is how you add in the little details like Kol wanting to be first at the door, and the boys drawing sharpie beards to become "beard brothers" just adds to the prevailing sense of humanity that they all have, despite their supernatural status. You've beautifully illustrated the concept that although they've lived for so long, they are still, and will always be human.

And on that note, as the Originals turn human, I love the subtle references to their weakening state, without anybody really coming out and saying anything about it. The scene between Klaus and Elena fighting to reach Caroline first where Elena can actually trip and pull down Klaus is absolutely hilarious to read, but it serves to remind us what's going on, it's a great example of your fantastic ability to mix comedy and tragedy. As funny as everything is, there is always the underlying sadness to the whole situation, and it makes me want to cry a little while I laugh. Any fanfic that can inspire emotions like these is an amazing piece of work, and I'm heartbroken that we have to wait ten weeks for the next piece. But, if we have to wait through a hiatus in the show proper, I suppose we can sit through one here too! I suppose it goes without saying, absolutely excellent work.

Awesome chapter, very funny stuff - especially the rollerskates bit! Can't wait to see Klaus' reaction, I'm guessing what's on Caroline is chili sauce - the dog tried to lick it off her maybe so that's why Elijah is holding Amelia - but they're gonna think he attacked her! Classic :) Am I close, right?
