Maroon-dragon chapter 4 . 3/18/2012 This really is one of the best stories I have read in the John/sherlock section (and I have read almost every story that has over 5000 words and is finished). Really it had me laughing so much, and I haven't spotted a single ooc. I'd say a job well done :D. |
Soulreciever chapter 4 . 3/18/2012 This was so beautiful and the concept just perfect! I seriously envy the easy way you felt with how much John and Sherlock independently missed one another and came to realise the hole in their personalities the other had filled without them quite realising why. Wish to plead all shiny eyed for a follow up where they actually do wake up and just sleep together because some resolution to your well developed ust would be nice! Oh and the way you write Mycroft-Lestrade interaction actually has me seeing why Mystrade shippers exist! |
SarahKnight chapter 4 . 3/18/2012 What do you mean "unevenness and poor plotting"? That was fantastic! I absolutely loved this fic and am going to Favourite it and rec it after writing this review. I just LOVE the way you portrayed Sherlock and John's relationship. LOVE. It was so sweet and hilarious, yet in character. The stories of their separate weeks were themselves brilliant, and combined with their text messaging and inability to switch off from each other, just perfect. When John summarised what Sherlock had been doing, it struck me how you had made such a ridiculous series of events completely plausible because of the way the events unfolded, the way you wrote it and the slightly comic tone. Another thing that strikes me is that you used different ways of revealing the events, such as by having the conclusion to the supermarket incident told from John's perspective rather than Sherlock's. A great way to do it and it shows inventiveness as a writer. The dialogue was fantastic. I particularly loved John's conversations with Cooper and his anecdotes. I really, really hope you write more stories in the same style. Did I mention I loved it? Thanks for a very good read. I hope you don't mind, but I couldn't help but note down some Britpicks as I went along. I know it must be near impossible to research all the potential differences in language, it is so much easier and more effective to just let a Brit read it because we can spot them a mile off. math maths store shop… it's not that we never use "store", but in the context Sherlock said it in, it would've been "shop" copay ? oz our food is labelled in grams half quid 'half a quid', but more likely, 'half a pound' dumber not commonly used, more likely 'stupider' sidewalk path ass arse pants trousers (in England, pants means underpants) color colour The last two were in the narration rather than the dialogue, but I thought I'd mention them anyway, just in case you were interested. Hope this helps rather than offending :/ |
Magicalriot chapter 4 . 3/18/2012 Wonderful story! You captured the characters so well, AND you had me' giggling aloud on public transport (slightly humiliating, in case you were wondering). This is a new fave of mine! Well done! |
tenfani chapter 4 . 3/18/2012 FANTASTIC. But it can't end here, sequel? |
