| Darkover chapter 2 . 5/3/2012
Dear Linda: This is a heartrending chapter, with Aragorn so pain-stricken and vulnerable, and Faramir suffering his own kind of pain at his inability to do very much to help his beloved friend and king. The dialogue was good-the part about Aragorn being so wounded and ill that he feared being left alone was especially well done, and your descriptions of his symptoms were equally well written. Aragorn's concern for Arwen is even more in-character. This chapter is an especially fine example of h/c. Your descriptions were also very well written-I could just picture the two men huddled together by the fire to stave off the dark and the cold. I look forward to the next chapter. Thanks for writing and posting this one. Sincerely, Darkover

Aragorn, stop being silly, Faramir is hardly going to leave you! I think... Update soon!

OMG Aragorn! Both men seem near the breaking point!

A perilous situation for our favorite King and Steward! Can't wait to see how Fara gets them out of this one.
You have a tiny typo-at the very end, there is a 3 stuck where it shouldn't be:" It was no good dwelling on what might have been.3" It's not bad at all because it comes at the end of the chapter, but I know how typos drive you crazy.

Great start to the story, I can't wait for more!

Dear Linda: I read this first at Teitho, and I was equally impressed with it there! As always, this story is well written, with descriptiveness being its particular strength. The suddenness with which the mountain cat attacks Aragorn is almost shocking, although quite typical of a cat; and while this story is a bit more graphic than is usual for one written by you, that is just as it should be. Aragorn is badly wounded and he and Faramir are far from help. BTW, the dialogue is well crafted, too, as is Faramir's concern for his friend and king. I enjoyed reading this again, and look forward to the next chapter. Sincerely, Darkover
