|Reviews for The Dresden Fillies: False Masks|
| Guest chapter 19 . 3/6
Why didn't Harry use Arcane Mind's True Name? He already knows it works against ponies?
| Caffeinedelusion chapter 21 . 2/5
While I'm not thrilled with your inclusion of The Doctor, I can see that you're trying to pull off a 'Hero of another story' thing with him. Given that he doesn't come in like a sweeping Deus Ex Machina, I can accept it.
Everything else you've done here has been -immensely- entertaining and I love it. I hope you continue. I even hope we see the ponies brought into Chicago in a later story, preferably using the inverse of Twilight's transformation. I could only imagine Molly being saddled with having to acclimate six complete newcomers to an extended stay in the Windy City. Somehow, it feels like something that would fit post 'White Night', but pre 'Turn Coat'.
I am completely musing, don't mind me.

I see Bob and Mouse are along for the ride. the Main 6 will have a lot on their hands with those two.

Interesting opening to your story.

Oh Doctor hooves! Great chapter. Keep up the writing!

Love it. Though I feel I missed a chapter somewhere. I need to go back and reread.
| Sora with an S chapter 21 . 1/25
That Doctor. Always showing up in the oddest of places.
And then saving the day while he's there... though it looks like he's just going to give a motivational speech this time.
| Richard Caine chapter 21 . 1/25
I apologize. I did not realize I wasn't logged in. Still looking forward to ponies in Dresden's Chicago.

Well. Color me impressed. I'm a huge Dresden fan and honestly I hadn't even heard of FiM until my neice started watching it. As babysitter I ended up watching. And even I was impressed by a show I knew nothing about. Faust is a bright lady. I think you do a great job of putting the two genres together. Honestly there isn't even much I can nitpick and believe me if you ask some of my author associates on this site I can seriously nitpick. Alicorn Twilight showing up in Changes would be... Awesome honestly. It's interesting that Twilight and Dresden do have an interesting parallel in a Dark and Light sort of way. Twilight becomes an avatar of superhuman (superpony?) powers. So does Harry. Bosses couldn't be more different though. I'm looking forward to the conclusion of this. And I'm definitely in the Watcher Nemisis camp. Of course if you haven't gotten to Cold Days yet that will mean nothing to you. But I assume you've gotten that far. In which case you're probably aware of the true balance of power with the Fae.
The only huge question I have is, are the Pomies going to gate crash a Dresden Files book? :). My personal recommendation would be either Turn Coat or A Small Favor. Small Favor might be the best come to think on it. Or wait... Have twilight help out in Proven Guilty or White Night! Twilight and Rarity teaching Molly FTW. The Equestrian connection is a huge shifter for the Dresden-verse. And I for one would look forward to the Ponies (as humans) in Dresden's Chicago.

Happy to see Harry getting some advice from someone who's been there. The Doctor did a great job pulling Harry out of his funk and getting on the right track. I also absolutely love that he now has such a link to Luna.
I am looking forward to Harry meeting Shining Armor. Also wondering what Shining Armor's reaction will be to Twilight's association with Harry.
Thank you for the chapter. I hope you are doing well and that you are having fun writing.

And you can write the Doctor too very good very very good. Step back from the darker path yeah its Dresden time.
| TheScorpion0081 chapter 21 . 1/24
Shining. Buddy. You REALLY need glasses.
I actually read this chapter and the Present Chapter on the OTHER . So I will review them both here.
The Present Chapter was defiantly unexpected. At first, I thought someone hacked your account and decided to take every cliche about fan fiction writers and slam them head first into your story. I was extremely confused and slightly annoyed. Okay, VERY ANNOYED. I honestly thought you lost your mind.
That was until I managed to get to the second half of the chapter.
I have to give you props for the curve ball in the end. Talk about being sucker punched right in the feels. The emotion you want to convey was successfully recognized. Mouse, again, stole the chapter and really made the chapter for me. Just, give me a bit of a warning next time you decide to pull that. I'm still recovering from the PTSD from "My Immortal." I HAD FLASHBACKS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
Anyway, thanks for the heart filled Christmas gift.
Now for the current chapter. I read the comments from the OTHER FF as well as the forum. From the looks of it, there are some that argue that the Doctor shouldn't be in this fic, one even crying foul for "Making Harry's problems moot." There is one point I agree with( that you could have used any other available character), but I don't think that the Doctor being here is as bad as some are making it. It could just be me and the fact that I had never watched a single episode of "Doctor Who" (DON'T JUDGE ME), but from what I understand, Doc isn't as OP'd or Sue-ish as the arguments claim (short from being incredibly hard to kill). Plus, if I understand correctly, it looks like his equipment is malfunctioning, preventing him from helping even he did want to get involved. That's just an observation, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
More importantly, though I do feel that someone like Keen Vision could have done the whole "Ol' Timey Wisdom" thing, I understand why Doctor was involved. Though the scale of the problems that these two characters have are literally DIMENSIONS apart, their roles are the same. They both seemed to stand on the front lines against those can end entire civilizations with an afterthought. They didn't ask to be involved. The Doctor and Harry seem like the type to leave their challenges in the hands of someone more capable and willing. What makes them strong is that they are the type of people that answers the call when they know that no one else can or will. Because of the scale of what they face, they may sometimes forget that they can't meet the challenge alone, even if that would mean keeping those they care about save. There are times when the hero needs a swift kick in the pants to set them right, and who better to give it then someone who's been there.
Well enough of that tangent. I like the chapter, though I am disappointed that it didn't really go any where in the grand scheme of the plot. This is suppose to be the calm before the climatic storm chapter, so I can the forgive the slow pacing. Regardless of the Doctor's ultimate relevance, he didn't really hurt the story and I found his words of wisdom quite sounded. Plus, he's quirky! Further more, I am interested in how that hammer will come to play. I sense a 'Hammer Time" pun coming our way, but that's neither here nor there.
Thanks for another great chapter, and I hope to see the next one soon!
P.S.: The mystery man from the last chapter is most lik *Blue Screen of Death*
| Syroc chapter 21 . 1/24
Well... wasn't expecting the Doctor to pop in to fix things.
| stealacandy chapter 15 . 12/31/2013
I remember My Little Pony as an annoying cartoon for girls maybe 20 years ago, but surprisingly this is a good story. You write a very authentic Harry Dresden.

I just figured out that all of my alerts have been going into my spam for the last couple of months, so sorry that this review is a little late.
I appreciate that Bob was able to give a good and concise summary of Harry's childhood. Great to see the Fillies so supportive of him after that. And yay for calling that this chapter was going to be from Fluttershy's POV. However, I am a little disappointed that there wasn't more of her thought process unlike the POV chapters from the others. However, there was a lot of stuff to get through in this chapter, so that's alright.
You did a great job showing an alternate Bob that was cultured, but still perverted. As for who showed up at the end, I'm going to guess Luna.
I am looking forward to your next chapter. Good luck, and happy holidays.
