|Reviews for Riddle Me This|
| bluefirefly5 chapter 7 . 8/12/2013
Awesome story! I loved how Hermione eavesdropped on Harry being overprotective. He got away quite easily, she could have hexed him just a little. Ah well, brothers will be brothers, I guess.
I'm glad they managed to get the antidote right. Severus' decision to wait to remove his Dark Mark was pretty romantic. I guess you used the movies bit about the scar, since Hermione didn't get one in the books...
Poor witch, I do hope her punishment won't be so bad, considering she was also a victim, and a victim of Riddle. Fitting that she chose to punish people using riddles, ay?
Bill will get to be there for his son's birth, and Lucius will get to be a father hen to Draco, and Penny will be able to wed Cormac. And best of all, Hermione will remain exploring a big library with Severus. I'm sure it's a dream come true for those two bookworms... And they lived happily ever after, shagging each other senseless and reading to their hearts' content. Heeheehee! _

They didn't need Parseltongue, but Harry's knowledge of legalities concerning ghosts... Oh well. Hermione was right to help the witch, she was as much a victim as the others. Damn Voldemort. I hope he rots in Hell.
I'm glad Hermione came to an agreement with Lucius. I'm sure Severus will be quite happy to learn his best friend and his love interest came to a truce when he was unconscious. And now, with both the recipe and the way to remove the Dark Mark, Severus should be saved, shouldn't he?
I'm sure Harry will be happy to be of help here, especially considering his brother-in-law and the bravest man he ever knew are both victims.
It was funny to see Hermione not explain the answer to Lucius until the last possible moment. ;p

Ginny was always good at snooping around. At least she understood the seriousness of the situation, so Harry will certainly call as soon as he gets home.
The information from the Baron was very pertinent, and put everything under a new light. I do hope Harry still speaks Parseltongue... Or am I wrong about that? I'll see soon enough.
I'm glad Hermione was able to help with the collapse in the ruins. It had the advantage of showing her another, more worthy side of Lucius, and of showing Lucius that Hermione was indeed to be taken seriously. I do agree with Lucius though, Darjeeling is better than Earl Gray. I'm not a fan of bergamot.
Fleur's Howler did put things in perspectives. Lives are in the balance, and Hermione can't afford to fail here...

Aaw... That was so sweet, and so romantic... I just hope Hermione is able to wake Severus like that, and that it isn't too late to be able to treat the curse upon his Dark Mark. Severus really better be saved...
The Legilimency bit was quite interesting. The riddle from the sphinx is quite interesting, as there are many answers possible, the most obvious those already used. And the other riddles were a mix of ones I never heard and one I knew about - but still it's quite interesting to guess the answers.
I'm glad Lucius and Hermione finally reached a truce of sorts, it was about time. Really, how long are they going to hold their old grudges? And Hermione's comments about Dumbledore are spot on. By the seventh book's end, I really didn't like Dumbledore, in fact I preferred Voldemort - who, even though he is a psychopath and a sadistic bastard, is at least honest about being a Dark Lord. Dumbledore obviously had the makings of one but buried it under a veneer of good will, but he was really just as ruthless and as manipulative.
I wonder what the fourth rune meant...

I really love those riddles. And Hermione really is being a bit pedantic about this whole thing. While I agree that they need to know what the memory charm conceals, it's quite possible a phantom sphinx has decided to NOT use a riddle... It's the Crumple-Horned Snorkack all over again. Oh dear, hasn't she learned?
And while I agree that Lucius' opinion of her needs revising and he's obviously being a tad disdainful, Hermione too needs to let go of her anger and resentment over the war and what happened at Malfoy Manor. Lucius is not Bellatrix...
Stupid, stupid Severus. Why oh why did he go to see the sphinx? That was so reckless! He acted like a dunderheaded Gryffindor! Well, it sure shocked Hermione and forced her to face her repressed feelings. Now she really has to find the cure. And I hope the Dark Mark won't make the cure obsolete for Severus. He better be saved! Pretty please?

I knew the second riddle, but the riddle your son learned in grade school was new, and a good one too. :o)
This is really a great story so far, with an intriguing plot and timeline, and a interesting location. As I've been to Egypt a couple of years ago, I have no trouble visualizing it, and the site at Karnak was really stunning - as were most of Egypt's archeological sites. Anyway, a very original idea. I'm glad I decided to check if you had any other Snamione stories after reading "Saving a Death Eater" so far.
Poor Malfoys, even though they have their faults, you can't really judge them for having been scared witless by Bellabitch's insanity and Voldie's rage. Narcissa didn't deserved such an end, and I hope for Lucius' sake (and Severus as godfather) they can save Draco. The ghost of a sphinx? That's quite original.
Severus was thoroughly befuddled by the idea that Hermione would have help him (and the Malfoys by extension) as a favor to him. I think he's so used to being manipulated and frequented only for his uses (even by past so-called friends like Albus) that it's hard to envision that someone would help him without wanting something in return. Plus he's Slytherin, it's kind of part of their mindset sometimes.
Aaw, Hermione was jealous of Penelope's familiarity with Severus. Don't worry Hermione, it seemed Cormac was more interesting to Miss Clearwater.

It's interesting to find out what happened after the war. I can see Hermione as a curse-breaker (better than as an auror anyway). It's sad though that she's so sure Severus' heart is still taken by Lily. I think he's probably moved on already. For me, if he had lived in canon, he would have moved on because his debt would finally have been paid, therefore allowing him to move on. Oh well.
Too bad it's taken Hermione a whole year to kick Ron out of her flat.
Hmm, that curse seems really dangerous. I hope Hermione will be okay.
The riddles were fun, and kind of easy because they're all classics (well, I had seen them all somewhere already - if maybe in another wording in some cases, so it was easy to guess the answers). I wonder if that beast is a sphinx, by any chance (it sure would explain the riddles...). ;p

It's the riddles that makes this story wonderful. It was fun to pretend you were a Sphinx telling a tale that required me to answer riddles to continue hearing it. I greatly appreciate your allusions to other works of literature, and your knowledge of HP canon (and your deliberate ignorance of the epilogue-that-shouldn't-have-been).
This story length was just perfect for an afternoon of reading too. Thank you for writing this3

Really enjoyed this :) I'm an archaeology major, so it was fun reading about excavations and whatnot in the wizarding world. Great work!

This was a great read. It's very well written - everyone is in character, the pacing is perfect and I love all the details and theories concerning the Egyptian culture/history. I really enjoyed reading the story.

I hope the ghost council lets her stick around until Severus and all the rest have been revived. They may still need her help.
Interesting solution-unexpected, but plausible. Nicely done!
