I just needed to let you know that this was..one of the most beautifully crafted Mycroft centered stories I have EVER read!

Mycroft is easily my favorite character in the show after Sherlock and John (who are tied for first place) He is complex, dynamic, interesting, enigmatic and usually either completely ignored by the fandom, or made into nothing more than an asshole with an umbrella. But this...*this* story...you nailed his character PERFECTLY! You crafted this wonderful story in which Mycroft is absolutely perfect, and I thank you so much for it!

Mycroft is not my favorite character, but I really enjoyed this story. I'm amazed at the insight and depth you were able to show about John and Sherlock using only his voice.

I do feel sympathy for Mycroft. He is not in an easy place.

Well, then. This is awesome. I love John confronting Mycroft and pointing out that Sherlock will choose him, and Sherlock texting Mycroft.

And, the last bit has to be the best. Because John really is pretty smart, whatever Sherlock and Mycroft say, and I don't think it's beyond reason that he could deduce that Sherlock is okay from Mycroft's tears (even if he's incredibly drunk). It's a pity he won't remember...

Anyway, awesome story! I can't wait for the next one.

Loved this, every paragraph was beautifully written. I don't think it is complete, merely on hiatus until season 3...

Mycroft is one of the best characters, no question.

This was amazing. It's hard to do a character study like this on such complex and genius guys like the Holmes brothers since for everything you know through the show (or books) you know there's a million things behind the scenes. But this was lovely - he was a loving brother but without leaving out his controling and manipulative behaviour. Loved it.

Whoa my god, this story was absolutely amazing.

I love your take on what happened behind the scene, very inventive. The characterisation was very in touch with the show. I'm absolutely in awe with how accurate Mycroft was in this.

My favourite bits were the confrontation between John and Mycroft over the Irene Adler fiasco. Very well written, gripping and so very sad.

The ending was great too. It makes sense that Mycroft could be strong enough to contain the pain, but the relief at finding out his brother is actually alive would truly be overwhelming.

Overall great writing, great characterisation, great ideas... I really loved this fic and I'm definitely adding it to my favourites, so I can go back to it and read it again sometime in the future.

Thanks a lot for sharing it with us, I'll be looking forward to anything else you'll write with Mycroft in it (he's my favourite broken toy too).
