What the hell is wrong with Ennis, how insecure can one be? First it was he wasn't as wealthy as Jack then now he is not as smart as Jack.
If you really love someone, you'd want what is for them. Not the fact that you might not to able to spend as much time as you can with them when they can live fully to their potential.
If Jack has the brains to do masters, why not support that instead of doing some guilt trip of getting upset but saying shit like "you're always gonna be smarter than me, an' do better than me. You don't need me holdin' you back if stayin' on is what you want. See you later..." then go well it's up to you to do what you want, "... are you sure that you'd be happy throwin' away somethin' like that just to be with me? I don't want you to look back an' regret not stayin' on, an'...resentin' me or nothin'."
This kind of manipulation pisses me off. Hasn't Jack done enough to prove his undying love yet? Geeeeshhh.

So nice to see Ennis being the strong one for a change, especially when Jack has been there for him so many times previously.

Got to admit I am a fan

That was perfect! I was mentally "awww"ing pretty much from the very beginning due to all the super adorable fluff, and I just majorly loved it. I liked how very relatable you made Lureen with the threats to Jack's prick roommate, I kinda giggled. :P You know at this stage that I'm only going to compliment everything about this, so I'll just shut up and continue. :)

Someone as supremely talented as yourself deserves proper, coherent reviews, so I'm giving up my tradition of 4AM reading/reviewing. Hopefully you will now no longer have to endure my overwhelming propensity for shit talking. :) I kind of have a stupid question for you; is there a difference between an AU fic and an AU/AU fic?

But, anyway, on to the review:
You kill me with the suspense! Seriously, having Jack come *this close* to getting it all out there with Ennis, and then postponing things... And to follow it with that ending was just cruel! Buuuut, I kind of love/stalk you, so it's not like I'm angry. :P I like the way you carry over the characterisations from the original movie and kind of adapt to the modern setting and circumstance whilst somehow retaining all of their qualities... You also have me wondering what other characters are going to pop up in this little fic. Yeah, my curiosity is majorly piqued, and I already predict interesting and smutty things to come. ;)

A fantastic story. Absolutely beautiful. There were a couple of things I didn't like as much, due to my personal style of writing, but I enjoyed everything. You've made me cry with laughter, sadness, happiness... And I am impressed. I loved it.
