Apologies for not reviewing earlier, I've been bust constantly and always seemed to be reading this on my phone when on the train to and from work! Never really had the time to write the review I wanted to express, but I managed to get some free time now.

I have to tell you, this story is absolutely fantastic. It realy is. It's like you've taken the Bleach canon, and made it come to life. One of the problems with Bleach (and any other manga) is that you can never get the level of characterisation and world building on the same level of reading a really engrossing book. There's not much that can solve this as it's something that will always be there simply due to the nature of the medium. There's not many (if any) forms of story telling that can compare to reading a well written book. It's why when reading Bleach and other manga, I fill in the gaps they leave behind in my head, consider what seems appropriate and relevant.

And that's what makes what've you've wriiten a marvel. All these ideas I had in my head, the way I pictured the unexplained back stories, the relations between the characters, the random little details. You've put the all down in a tangible form where i can now read them instead of imagining them. It's almost like I'm reading Bleach the way it's meant to be read.

Really like the way you detailed Ichigo's past. What happened in between his mother's death and the start of the series, the reason he has the image he does and why punks tend to be afraid of him. Also explains the relations he has with the other characters really well, why his Dad acts the way he does, why he has that inner need to protect others, why orihime might have started to have feelings for him, his friendship with Chad. And most importantly the way Yuzu and Karin act around him, especially when he doesn't come home like during the Arrancer Arc when training with the Vizards and more recently with Xcecution.

Have to say you've done a magnificent job in bring the world and characters to life, and I commend you for it.

P.S Unless I misread it, did you say you've written this story to completion, or only as far as Bleach currently stands now? Do you plan to follow canon in general?

Also, those sandals shinigami wear are called waraji, not zori. Google for pictures and compare. And IIRC, the only hollows that can be "as high as skyscrapers" are Gillian Menos and Hooleer. Common ones are several storeys high tops.

My initial fear of this being a repeat of the show has been dispelled. This is an amazing story with an interesting take on events bleach fans know and love. Keep up the good work.

This is freaking rad. I wasn't digging the drug addiction angle, but the story besides that was very strong.

Great chapter! I love how you did this. But I should point some things out...

I'm not sure about the food thing, as it seems at times they do have the same kind of food. Then again, you have a good point.

Also, please check out how the Japanese School system works. It doesn't work like western ones - the teachers move from class to class and all the students stick to the same classes, except in certain special cases.

The only mistake I see is that the energy shinigami use is not reiatsu ("spirit pressure" - 霊圧), but reiryoku ("spirit power" - 霊力). Reiatsu is a product of one's reiryoku amount and level of control over it. It's more of the process or measure of interaction between one's reiryoku and their surroundings. The suffocating presence of reiryoku is called reiatsu. A zanpakutou is as strong as it's owner reiryoku, so it's sharpness and durability is also reiatsu (thus if opponents' reiatsu levels differ sufficiently, stronger blade will cut through weaker; it is also possible to match a zanpakutou's focused reiatsu with one's natural level, in which case the blade won't cut the flesh, as Kenpachi demonstrated).

And, now that I think of it, ō is usually written as ou, is it not?

Dead set, if I ever learn to communicate emotions even half as well as you do, I will be a better writer for it. I don't think there's a single person out there who can write a scene as moving, funny, annoying or sad as you. You even write scenes intentionally with no emotions so well. When you can write nothingness like that, it really impresses me. How can one author have such talent?

Yeah for fast updates! I'm seriously loving this fic! Ichigo's POV is awesome, even though it sometimes lessens the amount of information one gets.

I suppose you could do day-in-the-limelight chapters/interludes at times thought to make up for that.

I'm astounded that this doesn't have more reviews. I think that this Ichigo really comes to life for me. I like the background you created him to show where he is coming from and how he has developed. I hope to see more of this amazing writing.

Adding Ichigo sending on all those people was very important and I loved it. I was a great emotional moment.

I hope he'll be able to meet up with Enzeru in Soul Society later.

Okay, I first will thank you for the songs you started this with – they are awesome! (“Chances” makes me want to cry for some strange reason though.)

Second...I have some problems and errors that I see. Will you at least read them? (this is the reason for the second review in the end) You might have purposly chosen these, but I'll mention them anyways.

Okay, first...last I checked, Yuzu and Karin were 11 when they first appeared. This makes sense, as their birthday is said to be May 6th. Um. Yeah. I think it was (very) near the end of April that Rukia showed...unless you changed it.

Second, the hakama is the PANTS from what I know. Not the shirt. The shirt is called a kosode apparently. I'm also not sure obi is the right word either – obis are actually quite fancy if you look up pictures of them. (The Bleach Wiki used to be more detailed about this – I was surprised when I went back and found they had greatly reduced that section. ...annoying.)

Third, in the manga and anime, it is stated that Hollows go after DEAD souls more than LIVING souls – though that could just be a narrative choice, I dunno.

Also, Ichigo should be able to read the symbol on the ghost's forehead before he disappears (also, if I remember correctly, Rukia didn't go through him, but stamped it on his forehead). It says “Soul Burial” in kanji according to the Viz translations – and Ichigo is suppose to be Japanese. (I'm also surprised by the fact Masaki is now Caucasian – her name says she is Japanese, but its your story...)

Again, I must state my love for this fic. I also must congratulate you for Ascending some extras to importance – in the first chapter no less! Ochi-sensei always came across as somewhat interesting (I have a fondness for teachers thanks to my school days) and giving the Dead Girl such a catalytic role plus a really pretty name...I am in awe. Tite Kubo, who loves such things, would be proud.

This is basically Bleach Recaptured. And it is AWESOME.

I would really like to see this continued all the way to the end, especially with Bleach at its final arc. The way you have expanded Ichigo, made him more troubled, more damaged, more WHOLE. Damn. I...I am at a loss for words.
