Stuporman chapter 3 . 5/30/2013 God, I loved Ichigo's inner monologue about why he deciddes to help people as a Shinigami. It was moving and stayed true to his character. I also loved how you had Ichigo decide to sum it up under the logic that he didn't have time for philosophical debate. On the topic of Enzeru, you took a character who had no name in canon and was there for one chapter and made me care about the fact that she was leaving. The fact that you managed to do that speaks volumes about your writing abilities. |
Ferdiad chapter 8 . 5/29/2013 Damn, this was pretty heavy. |
Stuporman chapter 2 . 5/29/2013 Hot damn. This is a fantastic first chapter. You know, I wondered why this didn't have as many reviews as it did, but then I realized that all of these chapters are FREAKISHLY LONG. Eh, whatever. It seems like it would be hard to make a story we've essentially already read more interesting but you managed to take Bleach's story and crank it up to eleven. Well done. I gotta say, I like this more realistic Ichigo. It's always interesting when a fanfic author delves into the mind of a character I like, and you've done a remarkable job with Ichigo so far. |
sora kazega chapter 14 . 3/24/2013 That was a very good and fun read; on to the next one! Yay for more Ichigo Character Study! :D |
The Whimsical Ermine chapter 14 . 3/21/2013 Neet. On to the next one! |
Uraharaisgod chapter 6 . 3/1/2013 ...hahaha, nice. By your explanation, that means Tatsuki fits Ichigo's sexual preferences more than Orihime does XP, as a dude, can't say I argue on that front. Does your version of Ichigo actually have any ability to develop romantic attachments, or is he just as oblivious as canon Ichigo? You did put him as subconsciously irked that it had been Kon who kissed her and it wasn't really himself, so is that a sign that he is slightly aware of attachments? Also curious as to how this is meant to affect his relationship with her, since the canon version pretty much brushed it off in the end, yet their relationship in this is dramatically different, its fair to say its deeper since in canon Ichigo kept the invisible distance from everyone consistantly after Masaki's death, while your Ichigo instead went through pushing her away completely, then reforming their relationship later. Is Ichigo the only one who goes through a major development change? It's obvious Inoue, Keigo and Mizuiro are the same as canon. Tatsuki seems to be the same, but adjusted from the events that happened, Rukia seems to be going introvertive at times, while Chad seems to have changed dramatically as his underlying anger seems to rear its head more commonly. I mean, him actually swearing at annoyances? Pre-emptively attacking someone? Yeah, he's changed quite a bit, but I'm curious to know if others will be doing the same? |
0 Jordinio 0 chapter 3 . 2/8/2013 Zanpakuto and Konso. |
0 Jordinio 0 chapter 2 . 2/8/2013 Is this just a canon rehash or are you going to deviate? And it's Zanpakuto. |
argentorum chapter 2 . 2/5/2013 Wow, just wow. I don't know what your original novelization was like, but this one takes the cake. For me, I just can't get enough of seeing Ichigo's past, from when his mom died to the present. Your version, as dark and angsty as it is, just fits him perfectly. It explains why he never smiles, despite the fact its been about a decade since his mother died. It explains his borderline obsessive desire to protect people, and it does so in a way that makes sense. It shows his decent into darkness, when he became exactly the stereotype people think he is, not to mention why he can fight so well. And it shows why, and how, he pulled himself back up again. I don't like the quotes that you start off with though, just as a personal thing. In my eyes, the quotes are confusing and only distract from the actual story. Of course, I can't make you change that or anything, so no biggie. I love this story to much, even after just one chapter, to quit it over a single issue. |
A simple fool chapter 14 . 2/3/2013 Your story is so awesome. I've never quite seen anything like it. Going so deep into the psychological and mental aspects of the characters is so unique and awesome that I can't think of any words to describe it with. |
EsperJones chapter 8 . 2/2/2013 This story is criminally underreviewed. You actually managed to evoke more emotion in what you've covered than the original manga. I'm looking forward to how you're planning on handling future events, although I do hope this deviates from canon at a point. |
CreedKeeper chapter 14 . 1/27/2013 You know, I never really liked Ichigo. He didn't make sense to me and a lot of what he said just seemed... petty and overlooking so many ramifications for his actions that I just saw him as a very shallow characterization for an action story. Then I read this. I was wrong. I'd rather have read this story than the books in the first place because it actually takes itself seriously and makes sense both logically and with his emotions. You made him into a person for me, someone worth thinking about. For that I just have to say... thanks. I can't wait to read the next one. |
lessraya chapter 2 . 1/6/2013 Hi! New reader here. This story is a bit slower paced than I usually like, but the way you've written Ichigo is really interesting. I was especially moved by the part where he went mad after he found Enzeru's murderer, and his reaction afterwards. I can't help but draw parallels to the death of Ulquiorra later in the series, and I wonder how this Ichigo who went mad and might-have killed a man when he was thirteen would react. I also like how you've explored his relationships with his family, and how you haven't just ignored the fact that Ichigo is actually really *smart*. Too many fanfic writers forget how smart he is and write him as a dumb jock, and we almost never see Ichigo acting like a big brother in canon, even though it's such an important part of his character. The meeting with Rukia was also interesting. I usually like Rukia, but I never considered how *arrogant* she was in the first meeting until I read your Ichigo's POV. I found myself sympathising with Ichigo, and I didn't start to like her again until the very end, just before he lost consciousness. I do have to raise an objection to how you stated that souls devoured by hollows are destroyed - I've never seen that *anywhere* before, and I wonder where you got that. It kept bugging me through the rest of the chapter, because I'm pretty sure that when a hollow is purified, all the souls it consumed are also purified. Off to read the rest of your story now! |
illuminios chapter 14 . 12/13/2012 That was incredibly awesome! I hope the next story will be even better:) |
illuminios chapter 8 . 11/20/2012 That was very... emotional. Generally I don't like exaggerated drama (and I'm still reading manga; looks like I'm a complete idiot)), but this story (and this particular chapter) doesn't make me want to comment every second phrase with some sarcastic remark. That's rare. So... Thanks for your hard work) I'm looking forward to your next works. |
