Oh my, such a lovely story. It would be awesome to actually see something like that happen into the show, I'd love to see M/M engaged, but even if we don't I shall assume your fic as a missing moment :)

Finally getting to read this! As usual, it's lovely and I love the tension at the end...'Eventually'. Guuuh...I can just hear Matthew saying that teasingly.

Oh my GOODNESS, this was adorable! :D I was grinning so much as I read it! :) I love the idea of Mary dining with Matthew and Isobel as obviously a wonderful preview of her married life. :D We take that idea for granted so much in married M/M fic, so it's lovely to see it as something new and different. :) I think my absolute favorite moment was after dinner, though - the glimpse you allow us to see of how much affection they have for one another...and just the *hint* of the makeout was hot. ;) What a sweet story - I enjoyed it so very much! :D Thanks for posting and keep writing! :)

Thank you so much for writing this! I love how you took a 2-line prompt and turned into such a wonderful vignette!

I loved the little bit at the beginning where Mary tells them she'll be missing dinner and how Robert tries to tease her and fails, but especially the little moment she has with Edith in how she felt bad for leaving her sister behind. There was a point Mary would have gleefully rubbed this in Edith's face and it's lovely to see, at least within this universe, that Mary and Edith are in a much more stable and mature place in their relationship :).

When Mary arrived at Crawley House, it was interesting to see her taking stock of the differences of coming there for dinner and how in many ways, this was a prelude of what was to come after she was married. How lovely that it didn't make her anxious in the same way the possibility of moving to Haxby did. And it was utterly priceless how once she was shown in Matthew seemed to completely light up and from the moment he took her hand in greeting he didn't let it go, which of course, Isobel couldn't help but notice, especially as Mary clearly did not mind. Loved how he stole a kiss before they headed into dinner as Isobel conveniently left them alone for a few minutes. Loved how the touching didn't quite stop during dinner as they took any opportunity they could to "accidentally" their hands bump together. I hope we get to see a scene like this after Matthew and Mary are married in S3. It was nice how all three enjoyed the dinner and each other's company. I especially loved Mary's thought "This is going to be my life." And if this dinner was any indication, life was going to be very good.

Based on her observations over the evening, it was great how Isobel left them some private time following dinner by retiring immediately after. She could clearly see the affection over the course of the night and trusted them enough to give them some space. I loved the image you created as they just enjoyed each other's company and cuddled up by the fire. Of course, especially given where this would be in your story, the mood would easily from comfortable to passionate :). Must have been quite the snogging for them to not even realize an hour had gone by. I couldn't help but giggle at how mortified Moseley was as he was fully aware of what he interrupted when Mary's ride arrived. The flirting at the end was adorable and loved that they were both so reluctant to leave each other, heightened by the knowledge they soon won't have to. Loved that he got another kiss (much to Moseley's embarrassment) and his wondering how he'd get through the next few weeks :D.

Absolutely priceless :D :D. Ideally season 3 will open with the wedding or close there to but even if it doesn't, due to the nature of the show we're so unlikely to see fluffy little bits like this, so thank you so much for this :). Wonderful work as always and thank you so so much for sharing your amazing talents!
