| BelovedAnaktoria chapter 3 . 1/19/2015
Lesbian pulp novel or no, it was gorgeous!
| excessivelyperky chapter 3 . 8/31/2014
What an exciting variety of stories, depending on whose point of view was involved. Clearly, everyone had a wonderful time, and perhaps we shouldn't inquiry too deeply as to what exactly happened.
Filch is right.
| excessivelyperky chapter 2 . 8/14/2014
Oh, ho, the plot thickens! And who knows if Narcissa Malfoy might not...enjoy five of the juiciest.
| excessivelyperky chapter 1 . 8/9/2014
What a delightful story! Yes, indeed, in a society that fails to recognize that women together can have just as much fun as women with men, and indeed, has no suspicion that this is possible, much indeed can happen.
(of course, this society may not recognize that about men with men, either, which would be only fair. All those shooting trips could be rather fun, yes?).
I really looking forward to reading the rest of this.
| Pod chapter 3 . 12/17/2013
This was wonderful! I loved every bit of it. Thanks for writing.
| masho chapter 3 . 5/7/2012
the second part of the end- Narcissa POV started out being hilarious and awesome! I loved it, and Filch was neat, but still sad for me, but well done, really!
Why make the Narcissa POV confusing, by not making the stories match up? I loved it, would have been awesome just to read both POV and knowing what happened.
p.s.(in case you reply to fics, masho is my ff name, i'm just locked out of my account atm- do you miond messaging me, and I'll geet the email? love masho)
p.p.s. the questions are perfectly good being rhetorical too, dw. xx

The whole thing is a masterful exercise in structure. You have the time structure in the three chapters: before, the scene, and after, with the 'before' and 'after' made as the set of events itself. Also, as Moira pointed out, an interesting circle of PoVs, from Filch to Draco and back. Filch is the most lucid here, though he doesn't see the whole picture. Then comes Minerva, who has most things right. Narcissa and Draco are quite deluded, but so long as they're happy...
Very much like real life. Everyone sees things her/his own way.
An interesting reflection on cause and effect too, and all set in an interesting blend of two worlds.

Delicious. Everyone got exactly what they wanted - and all with their own particular set of perceptions. Quite the treat - the exchange between Min and Cissa - I admire your skill and control in keeping that just so perfectly on the edge - and allowing the reader's mind to fill in whichever blanks they choose. Much more fun that way.
"I hope yours fit." Dear Cissa, you should NEVER attempt to out-cat the cat...
"You really should learn to be a good sport, or you won't have any friends at all." Umn, do Dark Lords count here? Just wondering, so awkward these sorts of things...
"...that naughty boy had had at least three glasses of wine. She had noticed, of course, but he had been so clever with the pouring she just couldn't reprimand him. And after all, what was wrong with a little indulgence, now and then?" The very essence of Narcissa and her darling boy... at least for now... until the cold and very cruel world comes to call. I quite liked your Draco cameo as well. Actually a bit poignant, knowing what the next year is about to bring. I imagine he came to look back on those days as the halcyon ones.
I very much liked that you brought us back full circle at the end of the day to Filch - he's the one who really knows what's afoot and he does manage to get his twopence in time and again.
Over all a delightful piece of work - perfectly crafted as always.

Uh-oh. Itlooks as if Narcissa is going to get what she well deserves.
That's a lot of fun, you really did a good job of it.
I suppose we have a chapter called 'Night' to look forward to?

Oh my sweet heavens - I'm HOWLING here - the comparison of a wet and dowdy Lucius to a wet and dowdy Mrs. Norris is absolutely PRICELESS ! Tsk... the gentried lot... so easily undone...
| tetleybag chapter 1 . 4/16/2012
Ooooohhhh! I'm so delighted to see this come up again! This is so wonderful - I love your Hoggywartians, General Filch, the Countess, Miss McGonagall (I hope she won't mind that I call her "Theo" in my mind), Madame Maxime's select establishment, and Miss Bones, who likes her instructions precise or bold.
Also, Miss Pince and Miss Grubbly-Plank. So glad they've found each other to share all the heavy work.
I think it is an ingenious idea to put the two universes together, if you ask me. Though not nearly as ingenious as the execution!

I like this. It's original and interesting - in a good way, I mean. I haven't read Enid Blyton for a long time. Perhaps I should do some adult rereading.
Your humour and insights are at their best here. Filch wanting to look in the mirror to be sure he was not invisible (I know the feeling). People who think spinsters have found a 'wonderful compensation' in their work (you drop this as a remark on the side, but it manages to bring up all my feelings of annoyance). The part about the digitus secundus is very funny. The 'damn lefty government', ha ha. And 'for some of the girls, it was as close as they'd get to being admired', excellent insight in the dynamics of amateur acting, or just plain acting (I am an amateur actress myself).
Excellent parallel between the two women who seem so different, but do have a number of things in common, even in canon, when you think of it.

Oh now this IS fun ! Everyone has thier perfect little scenario in mind - with absolutely NO idea of what's going on in someone else's head. I love the tone and style of this - I feel as though I've picked up a marvelous period novel ! And your Narcisssa is exquisite ! Perfectly Slytherin in her assesments of what she wants out of life and exactly how to obtain it. Ah, but I simply can't WAIT for the "Enter, Minerva" portion of Cissa's "play" (and that Draco cameo you promisted me...) And might there be also be a cameo by Professor Darkly Snarky? Can you tell, I'm just having way too much fun here ? Tra la - Sundays are FUN again !
