I'm very impressed with this story. Despite how long the chapters are, I find myself reading every word and not skipping bits and pieces. I hope you continue to write this story, I really adore it. Thank you for taking the time to write what you have so far.

For the record, I do read this on the original site. Only here cause I don't have an account for it. :)
Anyway, this is probably the best Homestuck AU (and simply Homestuck story in general) that I have read. No exaggeration. The character's personalities are so well defined. I love the setup for what I call Headset-Communication, how it's underlying thoughts and emotions and not just what the character wants to say. It's pace is excellent, not too fast nor too slow, giving us plenty of time to read and enjoy and understand the events. The interactions between Karkat and John are lovely as well. You allowed the relationship to develop at a good rate. Some people like to snap into friend-mode far too quickly, especially considering they're on opposite sides of a war. Instead, you gave the appropriate amount of mistrust that eventually became friendship as the days went by. My inner fangirl is pretty much drunk on happiness.
I can't wait to see more from this! Thank you for writing such a lovely work.

This is one of the best pieces of literature that I've ever read and you really do a great job with the intriguing plot and accurate character portrayals. The character development is incredible and you do a fantastic job of making everything really easy to imagine. It is definitely worth the long (but not annoyingly so) waits because when the next chapter comes it is certain to be good quality writing rather than just something cranked out in a few days to quell the readers. You make no spelling errors, as far as I can tell, which is always wonderful (in other writing I've found with said errors, it simply draws away from the writing.) The only thing I can say is that there will occasionally be a sentence that I personally find a bit difficult to process, but this can be said of nearly any writing. This is a well-written story that keeps the readers attention throughout the whole of the tale and the amount of time this is bound to take to write this well definitely shows. Keep writing because you do a GREAT job of it.

Ok. I love you. You updated when I least expected it. This chapter was long but not annoyingly so. OMG you had my brain trying to figure out what's what and now I want to read more. Why are you such a boss?

I LOVE THIS I LOVE THIS! Please update. I'm cheaking every week. You write Karkat so well- your seriousy one of the only people who can do a realistic Karkat even while shipping him, and I love that. The plot is great too. Its unusual and refreshing, and I CAN NOT wait for more. I'm going to reread it. Then I'll read it again. And again. And again because it is ON MY FAVORITES BAR at the top of my computer.

Okay, so I went through, quite literally, every single JohnKat fic of an appropriately filthy nature on Ao3 that I could find. I then went through three different fic recommendation compilations, sifting through them for ones I hadn't already devoured. Then I made my way to the homesmut dreamwidth kink meme pages and incidentally found Battlefield Terra in short increments. I Googled the fic name and it brought me here so I could read it from the beginning.
Holy fucking shit.
All right, I'll be honest here. I'm something of an unconscious empath, and stories with a consistently stressful tone (prisoner of war, rape stories, etc.) affect me so badly, I have difficulty getting back to normal life without spiralling into a bizarre vortex of source-less stress myself. So at first I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this story. Then I remembered that I had gone through just about every other JohnKat fic on the planet and beggars can't be choosers and all of that. Plus, just from the first few sentences, I could tell it was good writing. I resolved to suck it the hell up and read, because good authors are such a rarity that no personal squeamishness can possibly overcome the need for them.
I am so freaking glad I did. This has had some genuinely adorable, fluffy moments as well as the intensely emotional scenes, and both are expertly crafted. Reconciling Karkat's offensive-defense personality with the natural survival instinct of a soldier in enemy territory could not have been easy. All too often, I see stories where they'll put Karkat in a bad situation and write him like a gibbering wreck, scrapping his personality completely. That, or they have him reacting a bit TOO violently. The boy has common sense. He's one of the few Homestuck characters who DOES. It's wonderful to see someone who can understand that.
It's also great to see the disparity and slight disconnect between what Karkat thinks and what he's willing to say. In his head, he's concise. Out loud, it takes a paragraph of insults for anything to get said. He buries concern and kindness by inundating his listeners in crass comments, and that works great for him. You write thoughts so brilliantly, too. Thoughts aren't always complete sentences, don't always finish the way they're supposed to. Sometimes things get rewritten mid-thought in an abrupt shift. You capture that perfectly, in such a way that it's easily understandable, too. No easy feat.
It's all so fucking cool.
I'm still geeking out about the whole story.
I'm going to reread the entire thing tonight. Guess my normal sleeping schedule is shot.
NO REGRETS. FOR NARNIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
