I nearly cheered when he threw down that gauntlet. Aldwin's right; it's got nothing to do with liking Merlin; you just can't go around beating up servants! Especially not ones the prince is fond of, Winston you idiot.

Okay, you used it twice in this chapter. You always use it. Lowly? It might be a word, but it's a poor choice and confusing. You either mean humbly, quietly, or in a low voice. I love your writing, but it's an awkward word.

Punishment... I vote stocks. All day stocks for Winston! Yes!

There's just a lot of Merlin angst in this section. Does everyone like physically and mentally hurting him or something?

What is it with "villains" these days. 'If you tell blah blah blah". That just makes it worse for themselves. Guess he gets the idiot ball with this, and that's kinda sad.

Do continue. Interesting fic, if a little painful to read with all the torture.

Cadmon having two volumes: quiet and quieter, that cracked me up. Brilliant, it goes to show how very angry he was if he revealed his loud volume level XD

I loved the scene between Merlin and Arthur. How it first started out as all business, then Arthur became serious and concerned while Merlin became avoiding and then they ended in teasing. Those two, they're so brilliant and it seems their scenes simply flow by themselves.

And Arthur admitting he was wrong, very well done and I loved how Merlin didn't take advantage of that.

Damn it, I KNEW IT! I knew he wasn't genuinenly apologizing, but well done on Merlin's ever forgiving characterization. Damn you Winston!

Again you've got Merlin down so well, defending Aldwin of all people since they aren't exactly on good terms yet with each other. I'm loving this story!

I like how you make Merlin a bit less reckless, deciding against magic since he can't be sure if anyone is wathcing him. Poor Merlin though, suffering the whole knight.

Yay Aldwin to the rescue! He's becoming more and more the Aldwin I love from the series.

So happy with the quick update, am actually nervous about what the next close call will be for Merlin. And will Aldwin tell Arthur or go after Winston himself? Either possibility sounds interesting, although if Aldwin for example went a bit dangeorus during practice on Winston, making it turn into a fullblown fight and causing Arthur to have to separate them, that sounds brilliant too.

Well of course it's your story and you've probably already got it all planned out. I'm eager to see what Aldwin will do and what'll happen to Merlin next.

So update fast please if possible!

The calls keep on getting closer, but how long will it be before Merlin's luck runs out? He really is fortunate that Aldwin found him before he had spent the entire night in the stocks. To be honest, I wouldn't mind breaking Winston's nose with, say, a rock. There are so many ways I could describe how I feel about him, but seeing as I'm trying to keep my language clean, I'll just call him a scumbag. It takes a great writer for me to truly despise a character, and I absolutely loathe Winston.

Oh, man...I just felt so bad for Merlin! Poor guy. Nice job. Believable, excellent imagery.

I love how you have Arthur portrayed, it seems accurate and good and I like the knights (well the nice ones) especially Gerrick, they all seem well on their way. I hope this evil Winston gets what's coming to him, I would like to see Arthur kick some butt...
