Silly Merlin. always getting into trouble.

I saw the name Aldwin in the first line, and insttead of reading your Author notes, I had to go look up all the fics you've written to be sure that these were the same men... stupid me...

I can't wait to read some more of this! It promises to be great fun! (Well, maybe not for poor Merlin - speaking of which, will hurting his wrist be of any consequence later on? I mean, when I hurt a joint (body, not plant) and don't resst it, it tends to get mmuch worse).

I love that you're writing about how the knights and Merlin became friends. I haven't said so before but your original knights are absolutely fabulous characters and I love 'em.

Nice to see the origin of Merlin and Gerrick's shared love of telling jokes in this chapter. Also liked the fact that Merlin even has a special relationship with Arthur's horse that no-one else has (btw, like the fact you stick to the same horses throughout this series - makes them have unique and likeable characters of their own, and aren't just a means of travel!).

Like the fact that Aldwin is warming to Merlin slowly - makes the relationship seem more real that they're not bosom buddies from the word 'go', but have to work on the friendship.

Oh dear, Merlin is so foolish to talk like that to Winston...but glad he did, cause it sounds like things are hotting up as a result rubs hands with glee, and can't wait to see what the horrible knight is going to do next :O)

SERIOUSLY! Tell me he is not going to stab Merlin with the picthfork! I will tear winston apart limb by limb if he does!

But okay, nasty cliffhanger but excellent chapter, I loved it!

ah the strawberry joke. If I remember correctly this was in the main storyline somewhere and I think this was where Gerrick told Merlin not to answer because MErlin already knew the joke and the others didn't. I've always wanted to know when Merlin learned the joke. This is wonderful, I got all excited when Gerrick asked if Merlin liked jokes. I was like YAY the jokes are coming!

Merlin's lake joke was brilliant too! Oh my god how do you come up with these jokes!

You've got a fine grasp of Merlin's bad luck don't ya? Running into the next knight that doesn't like him, yet.

But yay, Aldwin is changing, if only a little. It's the Merlin charm! No one can resist, well maybe some, but no knights and definitely not Arthur. XD

This is turning into one epic prequel that has me going crazy with anticipation! Please don't leave me hanging too long on this evil cliffy. MAybe Aldwin forgot something and he comes back in time to stop Winston or maybe not totally in time so Merlin gets a little hurt? I just love hurting Merlin and protective knights XD

Whatever you've got planned, write it quickly please please please!

This is really, really interesting. I love stories that have Merlin interact with people besides Arthur. My only issue is that one line in this chapter says, "The sun was starting to drift below the horizon..." which sounds like sunset to me, but it's supposed to be the next morning. Maybe I misunderstood something...? Other than that, I love this!
