|Reviews for Help Me Say Goodbye|
| Riene chapter 6 . 8/7
Oh no...you did not do that...noooooooo.
This was superbly well written. I confess I did not see that twist coming and now I must go back and re-read for the clues I obviously overlooked. Raoul is a very sympathetic character here, and I feel so badly for him, trying to to do the right thing for the woman he loves. And poor mad Christine...the guilt and grief must be overwhelming.
Nicely visual writing-it was easy to see their conversations and the growing tension. The ending had two points I thought were masterful-Christine remembering Erik asking her to let him go, and Raoul realizing he truly might haunt them forever. Bravo.

Oh /ouch/. T_T this whole story - beautifully done and unexpected, though there were a few clues - but poor Christine! And Raoul! And everyone really... :( your writing is wonderful!

I very much enjoyed this. It was original and well thought out. The pacing was consistent and the word choice served the story very well. It gives a very real world look at what happened to Erik and Christine and honors the depth of feeling they shared.

Okay, normally I don't approve of divorce, and I think it should only be used as a last resort when all other options have failed, but in this particular case (Christine leaving Raoul for Erik), I'm willing to make an exception!
| COTO chapter 6 . 11/15/2014
That was perfect. It did not have the surreal magic return of Erik. It was harsh and beautiful when I get to my computer I WILL favorite.

I can't believe I just got to reading this now! I didn't even know you wrote it until after I was finished with it lol. This was a really great story! The plot twist was really good. I didn't see it coming at all. And I love how you made Raoul sympathetic. At of all of the characters, I felt the worse for him. I don't know what I would have done in his situation. Good job! It was depressing but I enjoyed it :)

Oh. My. GOSH...
I can't believe I've just now read this! I was all like, "Yeah, Christine!" But, THIS...
This is a twist worthy of Hitchcock's jealousy. SO good! My mouth hasn't closed yet...
| Kittie Darkhart chapter 6 . 6/11/2013
My word. This story is, truly, very elegantly written. I simply love how you develop each chapter, before finally bringing out the "big reveal" and leaving us readers at a loss, as to what we should've caught onto beforehand. You left clues, albeit carefully written, which can be overlooked if one isn't careful. It's a very masterfully done strategy, certainly. The story also feels very Jamesean, very "Turn of the Screw," in its approach. I enjoy the ambiguity of Christine's midnight meetings with Erik, followed by Raoul's surprise when she confesses as much to him. His reaction should've sent off a red flag, in manner of something being not quite right.
And this may also be a bit surprising for me to confess, because I know I should sympathize with Christine, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for Raoul throughout this story. I cannot thank you enough for being kind to his character, especially since a lot of EC-oriented stories fail in that regard. Throughout this story, I simply wanted to take him into my arms and tell him it's all right, even when it's really not, with Christine's insanity and her preference of loving Erik instead of him. I also felt sorry for Christine; she's really a prisoner to Erik, even when he's dead. She'll never truly escape from him. :(
I also love the story's conclusion; Erik's persistence in haunting Raoul and Christine in some form ties in perfectly with Raoul's comment in the musical. I applaud you on how you decided to end it, even when my heart goes out to all of the characters. I've come across mad!Christine stories before, but this story is very original in its approach. It's fantastic to say the least, and I really enjoyed reading it!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us readers; I can't wait to read more of your work!

Poor Christine. Poor Raoul. Poor me! I am going to cry. But this was a beautiful story. So well-written. I love it. It's just a perfect story.
