Reviews for The Daughter of the Sun
Guest chapter 12 . 5/23
Lyanna was a bitch and I'm glad you recognized that, you are one of the few people in the fandom who do
Guest chapter 12 . 5/23
Ugh I love this series. Elia is one of the few people that I do not fault and I don't understand the love for Lyanna (she fucked a married man who was also a father, sure she might have been a strong woman but so is Cersi and that doesn't stop either of them from being horrible women as well) and I find her story to be one of the most tragic. I wish something had gone right for her in the world and I am glad to read that she had found a love she was content with before she met her untimely death
Guest chapter 12 . 5/15
What does the bruises on the queen's wrists mean? Was she like, chained by the Mad Queen? By the way, I LOVED IT! YOU'RE AWESOME! I can seriously believe that this was Martin's work, with a little more swearing if you know what I mean. This is the best fanfiction I'Ve ever read and I gotta admit, it made me cry... I LOVE YOUR WORK! )
MoceJo chapter 12 . 4/8
This was just so beautifully tragic. I loved the way you potrayed elia and arthur/elia was so crying right now. Rhaegar was such a fool..i really liked that elia told him about her love for arthur and then his jealousy. When he knows elia loves another then he wants her love. stupid.
I really thought rhaegar was gonna win and elia would live. I guess it was a fools hope. I really hope you write more elia fics. I love her so much.
Cara chapter 1 . 8/20/2015
This is making me cry already; I loved how you portrayed Princess Elia.
Sigrid Martell chapter 1 . 7/20/2015
To this "Guest" that has been leaving hateful reviews, please grow up! Your "Lyanna" was a lot of things but I guess everyone has their own opinion. She was, after all, a child of 15. She was so naive, a lovesick teenager and bcoz of that, Rhaegar took advantage of her. So please don't go around writing "how dumb can you be" when it's only making you look like an idiot. If anything, "Lyanna" was dumb for causing a war, I don't care if she was innocent or not. She still caused the war that have laid a lot of ppl and children to rest. Oh and next time you insult someone else's work, please leave your name instead of "guest", otherwise ppl will start to think you are coward. To each their own, I suppose?
Guest chapter 12 . 7/19/2015
How dumb are you that you don't understand that Rhaegar giving Lyanna those damn flowers wasn't her fault? Calling her names and hating her for something she couldn't Do anything about is pathetic. You are really low and disgraceful.
Guest chapter 10 . 7/19/2015
What are they, in High School or what? This is ridiculous. Lyanna has nothing to Do with what Rhaegar did. how stupid Arme you?
Guest chapter 5 . 7/19/2015
You make Elia seem like a bitch! Such an unlikeable character.
Joanna Jacobs chapter 1 . 7/4/2015
I love this story dearly. I love how it still follows the canon events more or less, but play with the underbelly. I never really thought of Arthur and Elia since many fics have implied Arthur to be gay for Rhaegar. But this love you've created for them, it just makes sense. It makes sense that Elia is not JUST the quiet obedient sickly woman everyone made her out to be. She was a dornish woman, and she behaved like one and opened herself up to her friends who would understand. Her treatment of Rhaegar is the most realistic as well.
I can't describe how much this story just...glows. The Arthur Ashara and Elia trio is magnificent and you've portrayed them all sort of like partners in crime through it all.
What I also liked and felt was very realistic were the parts where Lyanna was involved. I think it's true to what I know of her character, and in the end she's just a child.
You've also got Jaime on point as well, I feel like he had a lot of admiration for Elia.
Maybe next time you can write an implied Jaime and Elia fic? A love that never quite touches.
Guest chapter 5 . 6/18/2015
Oh I dearly loved this. Elia's reaction was singularly superb - 'No tears, no explanations, no begging for forgiveness'. It truly sums it up, especially this chapter. 'Unbowed, unbent, unbroken' indeed! Good on Elia. Now if only teen fiction wasn't full of domestic-abuse-in-training of the Twilight variety, the mental health of teenage girls might stand a chance...

One of my favourite chapters by far, if only for the mild comeuppance Rhaegar suffered.

Trins xxx chapter 4 . 6/15/2015
Good lord, about time Rhaegar learnt the truth and learnt that there is more to life that him and his wants. I also like how Rhaella is actually quite disapproving about all this.

Trins xxx chapter 3 . 6/9/2015
I love how vividly you have described Dorne and the water gardens here, the subtlety in the insults Doran has for Rhaegar. Most of all, I love how you've shown Elia to be so beloved in her own land. Such different cultures, such different appreciations.

Trins xxx chapter 2 . 6/7/2015
Secretly, I have always wanted to ship Jaime and Elia... I feel like their duties, the boundless love they feel... They could have been such a great couple, a Royal couple indeed.

But you have portrayed Arthur and Elia so convincingly... Loved it.

Trins xxx chapter 1 . 6/7/2015
I'd read this story ages ago and it was this that had inspired me to write my own. More the ending that anything. I loved the faith Ashara and Arthur have in Elia - 'the sun always rises' - what an excellent metaphor, especially in seeing them abide by it.

And so true about premature babies - not the excessively premature but those just a little, often their survival represents their fight within and it episodes of illness, they often have greater fight than those who weren't premature.
