I love this. It's so sweet and simple. I love how he never calls her by her name, but only by animal names. And the way he talks to her even though she can't talk back. And how he keeps thinking about asking Rick later. Ugh, just perfect.

awww...Honey, your story is amazing! Daryl is so natural, even as a father... Ya know, he's so inexperienced (what is cute), 'cause "all he knew of partenthood" is what he'd seen from nature ; no one was learning him how to be a daddy (I think his father wasn't really good at it)... he still is Daryl Dixon, and that way of communicate - call her animal monikers- is the only way he could see. BTW... "Caroline" sounds familiar, just like "Carol" And I'm so glad that you didn't give her name Amy or Sophia (what wrote zenniel).

I think my english needs some um, adjustment, huh?

I seriously *love* your portrayal of daddy!Daryl; it was realistic and natural and I could picture it so easily - the way he's still insecure yet trying hard to do things right _ This was really sweet, especially the pet names he calls Caroline and his mental notes to ask Rick about questions he has.
