First, I want to say Korra’s letter to her father was so poignantly beautiful. That quote about fear reminded me of A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff.
Secondly, wow that was gut punch of a chapter. I was weighing the pros and cons of Katara being reaped/ volunteering if she wasn’t and her not being in the games/ being a mentor. And I’m so happy you went with door number 2! There is so many possibilities with her not being the games. You have me on the edge of my seat!

God Ozai is so good at being evil. Taylor Swift’s song Blank Space was playing in my head when I read Ozai’s announcement.
I think this particular quarter duels is Ozai’s way of saying f you to Katara for saving Zuko, to Zuko for being chosen to come back, and also a way to make on good on his promise to make Katara regret wanting to live. Damn he’s good! I know it’s awful but you got to admire the sheer brilliance of that move.

There moments at the hospital evokes Baby and Johnny from dirty dancing for me. Zuko has such low self esteem like Johnny does.

On a happier note you gave Toph Jet’s uncertain death scene (for lack of a better word). And I laughed out loud at the many times Zuko’s actor mentioned honor.

Okay I did think Pema the artist was the same Pema from LoK. But I should have looked at the published and update of TBG to see that it couldn’t be so. It’s been a while since I watched ATLA.

My question for Ozai would have been what exactly went wrong in your life to make you think emotions are a weakness, power means everything, and it is better to be feared than loved? Also you do realize firebending is not the most superior of bending? None of them are because they are serve a specific purpose.

Oh contraire Katara death does change a person. If a near death experience changes people than a death experience definitely does. Just ask Jon Snow.

And I agree you can’t pinpoint when Zuko starts to have feelings for Katara or vice versa because falling for someone isn’t one big thing it’s a million little things. That’s a really good show by the way.
Thank you for letting us get into Zuko’s head for a lil bit. That was heartbreaking but beautiful. It made me think of Augustus’s eulogy for Hazel from The Fault in our Stars.

I don’t know why but this just made me become dangerously attracted to Ozai. Okay that’s a lie, lol, I do know why. I’m always been attracted to the villains of the story. And even though your not in Ozai’s head this is a pretty spot on characterization of him.

I like how you incorporated the Dai Li into the story. It’s weird because Joo Dee was a victim of the Dai Li and yet here she doesn’t seem to know they exist. Am I wrong?
