| stefanie1955 chapter 1 . 9/6/2017 I like this. Do not get me wrong. I think Ron is a good friend, he can be very thoughtless at times, but he matures. However, I never really saw chemistry between Hermione and him. It just did not make sense. Sibling love? Sure. They fought like siblings. Now, her and Harry? There was something there. Harry was truly her best friend, she truly did love him, and vice-versa. That type of friendship, that's the foundation for love. I always did think that Ron would have been excellent with Fleur. I know, I know, Bill married her. Was there a need for that? nope! Rowling is brilliant, one of the best writers of this century. But romance? Nope, she could not write it. not to mentioned, she actually said in an interview that in hindsight, pairing Hermione and Ron was perhaps not what she should have done. |

| old-crow chapter 16 . 6/29/2017 Hi, I confess to being conflicted here. You went 14 chapters, effectively ignoring the wider world beyond who is smooching with who, then in a chapter and a half, more-or-less caught up with the last portion of book six. If you wanted to limit the book to who is smooching with who, why not just go AU and ignore the outside doings? That would have been fine and made an excellent story. On the other hand, if you wanted to include the greater world, why ignore it for 14 chapters? I accept that the story has largely been told from Hermione's PoV, The suspicious behavior from Ferret was all but ignored, as was the war. If you wanted to go that way, you Hermione should have been much more aware of what Harry was up to and given their relationship, would have insisted on being included. Ideally, she would have made an impact and DD would still be living. Unless I completely missed it, there was no mention of the ring curse. I think you may have missed a perfect opportunity at inspired storytelling. Old-Crow |
