Oh, lordy, Dobby is trying to help Harry get his dogfather? I believe that there is a picture of Dobby next to the definition of 'unintended consequences' in the Magical Dictionary. I love him, but he is the epitome of a plot thickener.

Looks like this Harry isn't a Quidditch player in First Year? Just as well; with his speed & strength it would be apparent that he had some extra assistance somehow. I am heartened to hear that Albus plans to check on Harry's home life, but I'm not holding my breath to see it happen.

Oh my! Coach Steven might have killed Ron's Slytherin-hate early in the tale. That would have been nice. After a while it gets on my nerves. Apparently it gets on Padma & Tony's nerves, too.

Ron's home-schooled background would help to explain his slacker qualities, but if kids have any ambition at all, they get over the notion that if learning isn't fun, it's not worth doing. I can't see that canon Ron ever did. Pity.

I cannot understand how canon Hermione ever fell for Ron, though. I guess animal magnetism might be the answer when she's a teen, but she grew up.

Love the story so far, but there is a slight error you might (or might not) want to tidy up. In UK English the person who operates a train is known as the "Driver" not the "Engineer" as in US usage. I believe somebody once put it like this, "The Brits and the Americans are two peoples divided by a common language".

Just in case you might be wondering, the conductor of a train is known as the "Guard", and he doesn't go around saying "tickets please" either, that would be the job of the "ticket inspector" (yup, in Blighty they're two separate jobs. The Guard's the boss of the train, the ticket inspector is the one who makes sure you've got your ticket or makes you cough up the fare or chucks you off the train if you don't).

Yeah, I spent WAY too much time watching Top Gear, Brit-Coms like Red Dwarf and Are You Being Served?, and more than one UK train documentary.

Not that I doubt that they love each other, but you haven't really built up the familial relationship between Harry and Kalina. Up until this chapter, most of her interactions with Harry so far have consisted of teasing him, making lewd comments about Sirius, or talking about Cassi.

Although she's certainly had time to develop a motherly love for him, it's never been demonstrated before now. Due in part to this, it makes her punishment of Harry seem crueler than it should have.
(not that humiliation is ever a good form of punishment. it leaves a lasting mark, sure, but even physical punishment causes less resentment.)

I like your story so far I almost think that there is to much going in it though. I mean you have the whole mutated werewolf thing, the pack issue and greybacks pack out for revenge. You have the Voldemort issue and the horcruxes. You have the magical way to explain the bi polar relationship with Harry , the ministries attitude and now the whole unseelie plot and his test with them. That's a lot going on in the story I'm interested in how you balance them all
