| die by thirty chapter 1 . 10/31/2013
This is possibly one of the most stunning and beautiful things I have ever read.
All sentences flowed -burned even- with a passion both intense and cold, loving and sorrowful.
I applaud you and your amazing talent!
| The White Leopard chapter 1 . 8/30/2013
I see much drama and self-destructive behavior, mixed in with emotional poison and harsh truths and a bit of denial. Quite the heavy combination. Regardless, it was as captivating as the first one in its own way. I have to say, that thing that connects Korra and Tahno, particularly in the first section? It feels like a live wire. And their interaction after that, while considerable darker and more somber, feels believable and significant. Well done. I look forward to reading the next part after I get some sleep.
| Guest chapter 1 . 7/13/2013
Omg, this is amazing. Somehow you have me staying up all night reading it and I love it!

But we're still so cold
Um... I think I'll write a novel-long comment here xD
There's so many things that I NEED to tell you related to this fic.
First of all, I enjoyed it. I really did. And it's surprising because I generally don't like reading romance. I like to ship characters, but I usually don't like stories that focus on the relationship between those characters more than on the other aspects of the story, if the story even has other aspects. Yet, I truly enjoyed this. And it's a very long one-shot.
Your writing style makes the characters come alive, it makes the story fluid and it's able to touch the reader. The words that you use are able to make the feelings come across and it's a real pleasure to read.
(at this moment I have three more windows open with three more of your fanfics xD your writing style is THAT lovely it makes the act of reading even more enjoyable)
I'm particularly fond of your descriptions of Tahno's hollow gaze and ghastly eyes and sickly-looking face. You manage to set the mood really nicely... The mood that the entire fic follows.
And then there's the cut between the first part of the fanfic, happening shortly after the dance (which was wonderful in itself) and the Tahno after he lost his bending and the contrast between the two is magnificent. The sexy mood of the beginning of the fic contrasting deeply with the angst that is felt all across the second, larger part.
Also, the title. It's sweet and simple and yet it fits the story. I really love the fact that it reflects both the mood and the more metaphorical coldness between people...
Now my favorite part is definitely when Korra thinks about Amon and about how the benders have lost touch with their history and spiritual nature. It's by passages like that one that one can recognize a good fanfic. It goes introspecting the characters, it makes link with outer threats and it simply enriches the story.
I mean, it may sound repetitive, but really, for someone not liking essentially romance stories in general and loving one of your stories this much, it truly needs to be nicely done. And you managed to pull it off wonderfully. Not once have I felt bored, on the contrary! Reading your fic kept me entertained up till the very last word! So really, thank you for this fic.
There's so many other brilliant little sparks here and there, the mentions of Mako being unstable (which sounds completely plausible), the passage where Korra makes tea for Tahno, and also, this part -
"And it is at this moment that Korra realizes the full extent of the danger she is in.
Since that night in the stadium, her purpose has consistently been to clean or patch up or heal, and now that she's confronted with the very real possibility of—forgetting herself—getting carried away, she's not sure what to do. The trickling of the raindrops on the roof are directly above them and, inundated by the simplicity of the sounds, she panics."
I somehow feel the need to thank you for this passage. You didn't go for an easy rushed choice but made the character of Korra *think* before she's acting. I know that she's a hot-headed character, BUT she's not stupid. Many people tend to forget that "detail". Sure, they come to having sex shortly later, but it has another, more realistic ring to it. So I'm grateful for the slow pace here :)
And finally, I feel the need to say that was one of the most beautiful paragraphs I've had the chance to read in fanfiction since I'm here -
"Another day, she says to herself. When the time is right, I'll tell them all about Katara's stories of Aang and Sokka and Toph and Fire Lord Zuko. I'll tell them what the history books never bothered to share... like how Avatar Aang wanted to teach his grandchildren how to ride otter-penguins down the ice caps before he died or how Fire Lord Zuko still refuses to have anyone but Katara stitch up the tears in his clothes, for old times' sake. I'll tell them I've been taught from day one of this life that expertly-brewed tea is the cure-all for any ailment, emotional or physical, and it's all thanks to a wise, old Dragon that I've never even met. Another day, I'll tell them how Sokka couldn't eat meat for a month after losing a bet to Toph. I'll tell them about why it's important to never drink cactus juice in the desert but critical to follow the mystical signs of a swamp, and someday I'll tell them how Suki and Sokka were married under the stars and a full moon, and were blessed by the very Princess Yue herself."
I won't even comment further on that one. It's just... Just beautiful :)

Ah, I swear, I fall more deeply in love with your stories and your writing style every passing moment
I can honestly say that when I was reading this, it was like I were in some sort of spell. I'm just sad that it had to end, but nevertheless! This is one of the best fics I have come across with my favorite pairing!
I love your work!

Hmm. I totally need to catch up to the smut! Great one, again.
| austheke chapter 1 . 11/8/2012
This story is full of lovely things. Absolutely lovely. I just... ugh, I can hardly describe it - it's slow and sad and spectacular, in a quiet way. It's loss and love and life. And it makes my heart hurt in a way that I kind of like.
I stopped keeping track of parts I liked, because there were too many, but this passage leaped out at me early on:
Another day, she says to herself. I'll tell them about why it's important to never drink cactus juice in the desert but critical to follow the mystical signs of a swamp, and someday I'll tell them how Suki and Sokka were married under the stars and a full moon, and were blessed by the very Princess Yue herself.
That is beautiful. This is beautiful.
| TaraxXx chapter 1 . 9/27/2012
THIS IS SO LONG IT IS PERFECT I NEARLY DROWNED IN THE TAHNORRA
I should stop typing with caps lock on, but it shows my feelings quite accurately. This story is perfect in every single possible way and it's the only word in my vocabulary to describe it. So.. yeah. Love is an overused word but it's the only fitting one right now. I love this story. Ah. Thank you for writing it. :)
| kaname's harisen chapter 1 . 9/27/2012
This is an amazing follow up to the first. I love the psychology of it- you really have a knack for getting into a character's head. And the angst... beautiful, wonderful angst. This is angst done right. Not over stupid trivial matters. Not added in to make a love triangle more "interesting". But because there is an honest, heart-wrenching issue to be troubled over. Loved, loved, loved it.
The only note I have is that it makes more sense for Korra to use her water bending to dry off from the drizzle than it does for her to use her firebending. Well, that might just be me though. Either way, I still loved it.
| theladyyuna chapter 1 . 8/22/2012
It's been a REALLY long time since I've gotten so many butterflies in my stomach from just a fanfiction... I'm obsessed with your story. Lovely character development, and story line progression. Not too fast, but not draw out by silly things... this is one of my favorite books/stories ever
| hiddenRealities chapter 1 . 8/9/2012
O my god. I love this. I can't believe it. I can't believe I love this fanfic so much! It feels very much like the actual LOK series - there are dark themes with a bit of light humour. But I think what makes this fanfic so great and so reminiscent of the original LOK is the internal conflicts that Korra has. And as a reader, I went through many of the same emotions that Korra felt. So in my eyes, you did a phenomenal job! As well, I wanted to add that I really enjoyed how you so seamlessly extended Tahno's story from that shown in LOK.
I would say more, but I am dying to get to the next part of this story. So I will end here and see you at the review section of the next instalment of this fanfic.
