| Spirit Burner AKA Chick Feed chapter 1 . 6/1/2012
Really enjoyed this story, nice to read a case fic for a change. Would you be ok to allow it to be added into "The Spirit of Supernatural" community? It's the kind of story we'd like to have in there.

I always enjoy visiting the first or second season of the show. It reminds me why I fell in love with the Winchsters brothers and "SN".
You wrote a wonderful story. Great mystery and history lesson, plus there were plenty of tense moments worrying about Dean and Sam.
It was nice that Sam bought Dean some pie. I've been trying to remember the last time Dean actually go to eat some.
I enjoyed reading your story.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Fun story, Sculls! Lots of great history and excitement, plus very nicely drawn OCs...I thoroughly enjoyed it!
| Lilith Luciferia chapter 1 . 5/30/2012
Excellent story. The tone, pacing, and characterisations were perfect; I felt as if I were watching an actual episode. Again, very nice work.

Great job, as usual. I love the historical stuff you weave into your stories...definitely raises the bar on story quality.
| LS chapter 1 . 5/29/2012
Great story, I appreciated the history as well.
| TraSan chapter 1 . 5/28/2012
Absolutely delightful. I loved this a year ago when I first read it in the Zine, I enjoyed it every bit as much tonight.
A well researched, geek-fact checked, case-fic with plenty of mutual bro-whummpage, and just the right amount of banter and concern to propel it to an awesome finish.
Oh, and if memory serves, I have another one of your fic alerts just begging to be clicked. Yeah!
| Vanessa Sgroi chapter 1 . 5/28/2012
What a fantastic story! Very intiguing with all the tidbits about smugglers and smuggling. I thoroughly enjoyed every word.

Oh, what a joy! Not only is it awesome to have a fic from you but it was a lengthy one too and I sunk my teeth right into it!
There aren't many casefics around these days and I do miss them, whether it's because the show has evolved so much over the seasons that we rarely get them on screen or therefore in fics.
I adored all the small town, local lore you used in this fic and how you've woven it into such a gripping tale, while also highlighting all the things that I love about the boys; saving each others lives with no regards for their own safety or health and the oh so infamous banter.
As always your original characters were strong and well rounded. I liked how gruff Frank was until he finally opened and helped the boys out, how Captain Pritchard gradually got more violent, his sense of right and wrong more segued as the years went by and how he really had a strong 'human' element too, not just an evil spirit.
But for me it such a pleasure seeing the boys without any other distractions, no angels or demons, just a 'not so simple' case. Maybe I'm old fashioned and a little boring, but the first two seasons are some of all time favourites and I really enjoyed the flashback to those good old days.
Thanks so much for posting this after its release, I thoroughly enjoyed the read and I hope you have plenty more new fics up your sleeve! Take care, :)

I enjoyed this adventure story with the boys very much. It was great fun to read something from the earlier times, with no complicating angels or demons involved... just Sam and Dean saving people and each other! Thanks for such a great story.
| zekeschance chapter 1 . 5/27/2012
Thoroughly enjoyed this story! I especially appreciated the way you kept the story flowing and not get bogged down. The bits of humor and the characters were all written perfectly and believable. Great plot! Enjoyed reading about that time period and I really thought it was cool how you incorporated it into a Sam & Dean case. Amazing job!
| ncis-lady chapter 1 . 5/27/2012
Great story as always. I'd so love to see one of your stories as an actual episode! You get the boys just right, and you always find a fine balance between humour and drama (just what I love about the show). Keep up the great work!

I do so love the historical references in your stories, and the tales of smugglers and wreckers have always fascinated me.
Your characterisation of the brothers was spot in as usual, and I had to laugh at the idea of Dean trying to eat tofu. Hee!
Sam's desperate underwater search for Dean, and the image of his drowning brother when he finally found him, was disturbingly vivid. I found myself holding my breath right slong with him.
Cheers for this, hon.
| Wallflowergirl chapter 1 . 5/27/2012
This had everything I love in an SPN fic - an interesting case, hurt boys (and each in turn rescuing the other from a watery grave), Winchesters doing their job well (which, of course, includes rescuing each other) and hilarious moments. I loved Dean's encounter with the health food diner!

A really annoying bird woke me up far too early on a Sunday today! I could not fall asleep again. Thanks so much for sharing this and making something crappy turn great!
Loved the story! I wish you were a writer for the show! I'd love all your episodes! You do such a great job capturing Sam and dean. Also you made some very exciting scenes. Such as when Sam was trying to get dean free before the ledge crumbled!
