Just adding to my comments on your tale…it was one of the earlier ones I thread on this site and I was truly impressed by the detail, the original characters introduced and how you portrayed the established cast. Quite a trial for Newkirk, but his reaction to being confined in the yard was priceless and you set up a fascinating relationship between him and the “enemy”. A thoroughly entertaining story with many layers.

Another In the Spotlight Review
I really like how you explained the loss of privacy and the implications that had for the men's willingness to share details of their past. That's a very subtle insight into the "silent bargain" that would have existed among men in this setting, I think.

An In the Spotlight review...
The antics are really well told, and the general's refusal to engage any further makes total sense, even though I'm sure he's burning up inside! Very entertaining chapter. I like how you portray Lackey, observing but unable to make sense of why Newkirk is held in high regard by his current team.

The caper you set up is very clever! Love this chapter.

An In the Spotlight review...
I just re-read this excellent story for the first time in several years, and it's every bit as good as I remember. This chapter is riveting. That little antic of Newkirk's could have gotten him shot, but fortunately it didn't. Throughout this story, you really take us inside the heads of the characters, showing us complex layers of reactions and emotions. I particularly like your portrayal of Klink in this chapter. While he knows his role as Kommandant, he is humane, and that shows in his tone and his actions.
You can't say the same of this General Eberhart, however. The punishment he settles on is deliberately degrading. He's playing mind games with a touch of sadism.

A gripping and well thought out tale, paced and plotted deftly.

I don't know how I missed that story the first time I combed for anything Newkirk-related, but I am very happy to have found it now. Thanks for this enjoyable adventure - it had the right mixture of drama and humour. I love it when my favourite Brit gets injured in any way and the rest of the team has to take care of him. In my opinion, you portrayed the characters very well and Newkirk's quirk for always having another trick up his sleeve was very entertaining ;P
Thank you for your hard work!

I just recently found out about Hogan's Heroes which means I'm a little late to this fan fiction! But it is definitely by far one of my favorites! All of the Hogan's Heroes are most lovable characters and you really captivated their personalities! And that this is the "English version" makes it even better because the translation is perfect!
I know it's probably unlikely, but if you ever put out any more Hogan's Heroes fics I will definitely be waiting to read them!

Thank you for making an english version of this! It was great; I enjoyed it greatly. I wish I could read your other stories as well, but I'm afraid I don't know French...
