Wow. Amazing story. I ran through the gamut of emotions with this, at times holding my breath, other times with a lump in my throat.
Dressler - awesome job - a man I loved to dislike (smarmy little weasel). I just KNEW that he and Harry were not the right combination for Seaview. You nailed that one!
The one on one interactions between Lee and the others was probably my favorite, especially those of Jamie and Lee. Finally, the give and take, butting heads, yet deep respect and caring for each other has finally been put into words. After the dive, when Jamie was getting Lee to focus and breathe, and the empathy and pure emotions noted between them, well, you blew me away with that!
Next, the interactions between Lee and his crew. I've always been taught that a good leader will never ask his staff to do anything that he would not do. In my opinion, Lee Crane is the epitome of a great leader. He has the ability to make his people feel important, can discipline yet not tear down, and shows his crew how to pull that last bit of strength from deep inside when you don't think there's anything left.
Last of all, Harry and Lee. Oh my. When they were talking about Lee's diploma, all I could think of was a little boy trying to get Daddy's approval! (maybe the fact I was listening to Harry Chapin's "Cat's In The Cradle" at the time slightly influenced it?)
Again, great story. Definitely on my favorites list!

This was a great follow up to the first story. I think you really captured Jiggs, after "Mutiny" we understand that he doesn't understand "new Navy" but he came to respect Crane. Also love seeing the fact that Crane was so competent and so good at what he does. It's so true to the series. Thanks, love good mission based stories like these

I love that you have things in the modern time but have not lost the feel and voice of the boys.
Really looking forward to the final story in the trilogy!
