Good story, but it's not hot that far underground. The temp is a constant 50-55 degrees. Worked in the mines for 4 years. Otherwise details are spot on.

Another good one. I like Raylan and Boyd's complicated relationship. It was the beginning of it all.

This was wonderful and painted an awful picture so well. Seeing and feeling this so vividly makes the canonical bond between Boyd and Raylen completely understandable. So nightmarish, and then Boyd not only rescues him, but eases him out of a horrifying experience and kind of normalizes it, as best he can. I can see your Raylen forgiving your Boyd quite a bit.
Kudos on all the mining expertise. Not that i would know the difference, but your precise terms and descriptions sounded like you dealt with coal mines all the time.
