I am intrigued by the idea of Watson telling us what 'really' happened as compared to his published accounts. I really enjoyed this and think you did a great job writing in ACD style. I hope you write more - thanks!

Wonderful - it would be great to read an account of this from Holmes's POV.

This was great! I like the idea of taking a story from the Canon and turning it around. You write very well as Watson, and the banter between the two characters works well. I think you got the emotional pitch just right for a story written in the classic ACD style, and like you say its worked very well. Holmes never reveals much emotion in the Canon, I dont think it would be in his character to do so, and Watson, although more open in showing his feelings is typically English in his reserve. I loved the way Holmes confronted Sir Roberts on his arrival, the way he revealed the body in the coffin was typically Holmeslike! Also the way he jibes at Watson about his fears in the crypt before he realises that he had his leg trapped. It was a great read, thanks for posting :)
