Love this story!
| ren-hatake chapter 13 . 2/2/2014
I am obsessed with this story. Samantha is just as damaged as Brandon and having him berate her as such is an eye opener. He does want to get better in some level but of course that urge, desire gets the best of him and throws him off course. Samantha did do that but they had some type of relationship spending time with one another. I'm glad Sam got rid of Ezra he's such a prick. anyways I hope you continue this story it's too good to discontinue

Love this story. You've really captured the character of Brandon, he's totally spot on. Your OFC, Samantha is also very interesting...I can see how the exotic-ness of her mixed ethnicites, her intelligence and instaitiable sexual appetites would reel in someone as emotionally damage as Mr. Sullivan.
She's just like him...perhaps to a less degree, of course.
She seems like she's got her act together. But you if you scratch the surface and look deep enough you'll unearth a habitual pattern of seeking out unavailable men such as Brandon and Ezra in order to maintain an illusion of control and aloofness. Furthermore, its painfully obvious that she doesn't want to get too close to anyone and vice versa so she can avoid getting hurt. Thus she adopts this disassociative behavior. While she does accomplish sating her physical needs and keep her emotions guarded. Only problem is with Brandon he does the same exact thing. They both fear true intimacy and all that such a connection would imply. So they settle for this odd game of theirs and that too is an avoidance of sorts. Not a spoken word between them, only one-sided interactions that guarantee satisfaction without the added fear of rejection- it's almost like necrophila.
And now after all this time, they confront each other again...but to what end? Their conversation, if you can call it that, is stilted, awkard and heavy with unspoken agnst. There's so much they want to say but can't because their dysfunction get in the way of it all. It's tragic, truly heartbreaking if you ask me.
Can't wait to see where you take this story next...

I just realized you haven't updated since September! Wow, quite some time ago. I hope you finish. It would be unfortunate for the characters to not have any closure -though I suppose appropriate and not unfamiliar for Brandon and now I suspect for Sam as well. None the less, I hope you complete this. Cheers!
