Brilliant ending. Those scenes of Vincdent getting chased were brilliant.

I don't usually go for present tense narratives, but I really like your premise. Everyone tries to do Cloud going back in time, so seeing Vincent do it is definitely a breath of fresh air. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

refreshing! terrifyingly so... and uh, dear 'lance strife', that is one offer you could simply take and enjoy yo... and give the shinra another merry go round around gaia... for nothing but fun? huh.. that sound lame...

Personally I think you could use a fifth chapter; an epilogue if you will. It's just to show how life goes on after all that and just play around with what was destined to occur and what Vincent managed to change. Then there is that little fact that I REALLY want to see Vincent tease Elena about her schoolgirl cuteness...

But that's probably just me (the epilogue, not the teasing), so it's really not an issue. Over all though this is a good story. A few loose ends here and there (like whether Genesis and Angeal eventually found a cure or if they died prematurely) and some definite missed humor opportunity (Cloud bringing his SOLDIER friends home for some good ol' mom's stew or Yuffie's misadventure of giant materia hunting) and other stuff that i can't think of. There still so much you could have done, but the ending is good enough as it is.

I am still curious on how Vincent would have solve his non-aging problem, because someone is bound to notice how "Uncle Lance" never seems to age...

The only question I legitimately want to ask is why portray Lucrecia in such a negative light in the first chapter. Certainly she isn't the best woman, but all you done made it sound like she never regreted...

so sepiroth has his father back. which ironicly seems to be up for debate on as to wither or not vincent really is his dad. but older vincent doesn't seem to think he is, while both younger vincent an sepiroth think the younger version is. . . ok, honestly that made more sense when I said it in my head. but nice way of coming up with an answer to both an pleasing both sides of readers (the ones with common sense)
