Reviews for Tea and Tchaikovski |

![]() ![]() ![]() This is beautiful. Sherlock and Watson's friendship is a grand thing, in any incarnation; but I have always had a soft spot for the version in the books. Non-slashy, just good mates, though it captures Sherlock in many rare moments of utmost consideration. Many of the adaptions underrate his innate people skills - if not exactly good at PR, he knows how to best manipulate people to his desired effect. A number of times, it mentions how well Sherlock can treat other people very well, when he wants to; he fetches drinks for distraught clients, and even plumps pillows for the engineer who lost a thumb. He's usually pretty good to Watson, too, in a brusque, slightly bashful kind of way. Playing him to sleep when he is worn-out, weary and lovesick is a fine example of that casual companionship they shared. BBC Sherlock can be a bit of a jerk, but I think this greatly captures the best side of their friendship - a mateship, rather domestic but still on the right side of blokey. And extra points for resisting the almost obligatory demand for slash :P |
![]() ![]() ![]() Read that one recently, so I found it quickly: chapter 3 in The Sign of the Four. Nice snippet! Well in character. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's a beautiful piece of writing, and for once, I can't come up with a single thing to criticize a fic. It's absolutely perfect, in-character, and I really love how you managed to capture the small, sweet scene from ACD 'Sign of Four'. It seemed very touching to me. And I was trying out a few guesses, after dismissing the real book which you took this quote from, then I saw your reviewer who guessed the quote right and nearly felt like smacking myself on the forehead for not checking it out. To think, I thought I'm such a big nerd... |
![]() ![]() This is amazing! It is so cute. : ) great fanfic. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Aww! I love it! Like some others were saying in their reviews, I love how Sherlock was both considerate, AND in character. I also loved the way you described the way Sherlock was playing - it /felt/ beautiful. And my inner nerd is very, very happy that Sherlock is reading ACD. :3 Love it! Great job! hannah! |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a lovely read! Sometimes I needs break from angst. :-) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I loved it! - I absolutely LOVE the ACD books. They're my favourite books:) |
![]() ![]() ![]() very good! Just a beautiful piece, and so well written, I could see and hear every detail of the flat, feel John's exhaustion and appreciate for what Sherlock did for him. And I love the last paragraph, such a sense of peace, and friendship there - as Sherlock guarded his friend's sleep. |
![]() ![]() ![]() My heart just started doing jumping jacks at this utterly adorable fluff. Everyone despite being slightly out of character is completely /in/ character and it all just works out so wonderfully and it's really just amazing. Well done! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awwww :) I love Johnlock, but this is still wonderful :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I just loved this scene in the book! Wonderful job :3 |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is nicely written. The considerate side of Sherlock is quite refreshing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love this! I love the original story and I was hoping somebody would make a modern version! |
![]() ![]() Aw, I really love this one. The quote at the end is a nice touch. It's also from "The Sign of Four". |
![]() ![]() Short and sweet, fully in character, nicely-written. I need more of these in my life. Job well done! |
