| Erisah Mae chapter 1 . 2/6/2016
Short, but excellent.
It strikes me that with the fate of their father to consider, Mulan would consider the likelihood of her sons one day getting the call in turn, and would turn them into BAMFs. The sons of Mulan would be intelligent, excellent at tactics, and unusually respectful of women. "Who taught you," the senior General Li Shang asks them. "Uncle Ping." "But where is your Uncle? I thought he was dead?" "he came to train us when Father died, and left again when he felt we were ready." Shang isn't sure what to make of that.
| sailormoonserenity99 chapter 1 . 1/31/2015
That's a sad ending
| Didi74 chapter 1 . 6/7/2014
Si parfois les fictions partent dans tout les sens, des auteurs comme toi nous rappelle l'importance d'écrire bien, juste et réel ! Well done !
Même si parfois on préfèrerait un fin plus heureuse...
| Ruan Chun Xian chapter 1 . 6/2/2013
You have no idea how much I appreciate this story. As much as I loved the movie when I was 10, the older I get, the more frustrated I become with it (and the sequel which the less said, the better). This is precisely what would realistically happen though.
| Verisimilitude1218 chapter 1 . 1/28/2013
| Jaricchi chapter 1 . 1/3/2013
That's a little sad. But still lovely.
Thank you for sharing. It was wonderful to read and contemplate.
| Mako-clb chapter 1 . 1/1/2013
This is sort of sad. It's not a Disney-style ending but is probably more realistic.
| peculiarities chapter 1 . 11/25/2012
This story just pulls you in. It makes so much more sense than most of the happy endings, because sometimes this is just the way life goes. I loved it, which suprised me a little. Well done.
| InsecureLemon chapter 1 . 11/14/2012
This story has a nice rhythm to it, very well written. Strangely sad an haunting, too.
| PrincessLazyPants chapter 1 . 11/4/2012
Very well written!
| Athalanta chapter 1 . 9/9/2012
Oh, well, good riddance. If she is a widow, she is the head of the household?
(Yes, I know I am a horrible person)
| rthstewart chapter 1 . 9/4/2012
This is so poignant and seems very, very real. More than glory, there is duty and Mulan will obey it rather let the ghosts of their ancestors wander - which is so chilling. She carries the weight not only of her family but of the dead.
| deaththecripple chapter 1 . 8/15/2012
I share your opinion of the sequel, and I like where you seem to be going with this. And a hint of randomness: the word count for this chapter is 444, which in chinese culture is unlucky because the character for 4 sounds like death.
| bluexxxcarnation chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
This was really well written and I liked it very much, but it's so sad because despite saving China, Mulan still conforms into the woman people wanted her to be.
| C.G chapter 1 . 7/23/2012
It is sad, but good.
