I have thoroughly been enjoying this novelization of a game I grew up loving, to this point. This whole side plot of the gate guard being killed by his own spear, the townspeople out of nowhere all gossiping at the Inn and blaming Dampe, then link asking for food, everyone in this place magically heard every word he said, and the awkward introduction of Ingo, the sudden kidnapping of Link and this acting like a kid appearing unconscious is normal. Malon and Talon have already met link before this point and they are acting really weird.

Malon who was suspicious of Link at the gate guards murder scene is randomly all giggly and happy to just find Link unconscious under the tree by her house. Talon who was woken up and suspicious of Link when delivering milk to the castle is now just "You can't leave here without tasting my famous eggs".

The setting for introducing Lon Lon Ranch is just a little... jarring.

Mido thinks he done it but it was the man in blacks curse that done it, but since he will not believe that link was adopted into the family as he is not a born part of it due to what happened which has haunted link and link cannot explain why. He will find out soon enough.

Ingo claims that the gerudo guards are friends of the king of hyrule, but link says the real king of hyrule died under evils bane and scolds at Ingo saying your the traitor of hyrule don’t judge me as I am one of the kings knights. Ingo spites at him as if to say why you and tries to take him down but link is too fast for him and takes him and the gerudo out one by one.

My favorite chapter.

This is a more interesting way to get to the Palace Gardens than just sneaking past the guards in the courtyard.

The poor mother if she had survived maybe hyrule would have accepted him and her son as their own and the hero would not have gone 10 years in the forest as an outsider.
