| Guest chapter 7 . 2/27
I vote for Ares all the way. Sorry, this is the first time I've ever read a story of yours and I dunno if you made a poll or have closed the voting thing. I thought it would be funny, and six votes is just sad. So now you have seven!
About the other issue, I have no problem with slash or reading a story with gay characters. Some of the gods like Apollo loved boys in the myths, so Greek gods and slash is actually a thing. I have no problem with reading about gay relationships, but I am completely straight and yaoi or yuri is not my thing. I have no problem with people who read or write it, but I'm not interested personally and I won't read it. So while I would keep reading if Harry was gay, if you started writing lemons I would either skip them or leave. Does that make sense? Sorry, but this is an issue on Fanfiction that bothers me, and you mentioned it so I wanted to express my opinion. Good on you for expressing your opinion like this, it was a very mature and responsible reaction. I will totally keep reading this story and I vote for Ares with a secondary vote for Apollo.

I don't know what they're talking about. I think your work is great, regardless of the sexual orientation of the main character. I don't see how someone on this website could have an issue with non-Hetero pairing, considering that here straight pairings are outnumbered. Keep writing, and make whatever decision you feel appropriate about Harry's sexuality.

I might not agree with you on Taylor Swift but I fully believe in everything thing else. I think it's disgusting that there are people on this site who are homophobic ( they must have a really hard time on this site) and I'm sorry you had to experience that on a site where freedom of speech and imagination are encouraged. and I applaud you for standing up to them and posting this. Forget these people cause they're not worth your time and energy. Keep fighting the good fight and if you ever get the chance, report them. Excited for the next chapter!

Joe's review and the Guest's review directly below his kind of hit the nail on the head for my opinion on this matter, too.
Not much more to add on them.

I'm glad you toI'm those hatersI what's what. The chapter preview did confuse me but it made me really feel the anticipation for more.
I don't have a deformed spine but I do have epilepsy and can understand the angle...i dont give a damn what they say.
sometimes when im being a troll i dont let people know until they see me taking my meds and watch their reactions...that or I end up explaining my hand tremors. Facial expressions are so funny.
Good luck on next chapter. Have u listened to 'we're not gonna take it' by twisted sister? Very good song for motivation.

Hmm this hate is more beacuse what this site is making with slash or yuri. In first case it was mostly stupid moronic fangirls with lack of brain or common sense writing theyr rabid fangirl fanatsy like Harry/Edward of course with MPREG and other iditic ideas without even trying to explain it. In essence creating poorly writen porn with cardboard characters.
And in yuri it is usally perverted teenagers who didin't seen boobs in real life out of anime/porn or anything difrent.

Taylor was right, ignore the haters. You do you.

To be honest, I don't care what the pairing ends up being. I'm fine with either Slash or Het (Even though I somehow prefer slash).
I think your story is way too good to not read even if the pairing ends up displeasing me (which would be impossible, since [1st sentence]).
Also, I've found myself going through the same process as you as coming to terms with my sexuality.

I think the review comment you copied and pasted could have been put more delicately, but I disagree with you on this issue.
What you’re describing is more likely a matter of preference, not necessarily some indication of real life prejudice or lack of acceptance and I’d beg you to not jump to that conclusion so quickly. I personally don’t read slash fanfiction when it relates to the protagonist of the mythology. That doesn’t make me a homophobe. I have many gay friends, both male and female, and have no problem with them or their sexuality. The issue I have in regards to slash fanfiction is that I often self-identify with the protagonist and as I’m straight, I prefer them to be straight, as they were in canon. I really don’t think that makes me prejudiced. I don’t need to read slash fiction to change my already non-prejudiced real life views on homosexuality.
I also don’t read fem!Harry Potter or fem!Percy Jackson fanfiction. Again, I’d argue that doesn’t make me a misogynist. It’s simply preference, what I personally find more entertaining to read in terms of a work of fanfiction. I don’t begrudge anyone else their preferences when they differ from mine, but I do like to be told upfront.
As for the slash description, any seriously major deviation from the canon character from the outset will often get a bit in the summary to better allow readers to know what’s coming in the story, just like the way you emphasized that Harry would be a God in this story. I think that’s become a ‘best practice’ on this site as it gives the reader a head’s up from the beginning and better informs them so that they can decide whether to read or not based on their own reading preferences. I’ve seen many such warnings for gender bending fics, or sometimes even when the character is more powerful or smarter than their canon description. This is, of course, depending on who they were in canon. It works the other way as well. If someone was writing a Modern Family fanfiction, for instance, and changed the sexual orientation of the canon gay characters in that show, frankly I’d definitely want the author to put in a warning indicating that they made the characters straight.
There is no dearth of slash fanfiction on this site, I assure you. And there is definitely not some extreme minority of readers who read and love slash stories. This was an issue of informing your readers upfront and them being surprised when it showed up without any indication in the summary.
I wish you the best of luck as you continue writing your story.
