Wow, that was intense. I hadn't quite imagined Dad finding out the whole Omega story that way. His reaction is surprisingly generous, considering. I'm curious to know what he's thinking during that last exchange.

Though it is sad to see Cerberus remain the the "Team Rocket" of Mass Effect due to BioWare's inability to come up with a better villain. ME3 would have been much more interesting if Shepard and Jack Harper and been forced to work together due to circumstances (both the Reaper invasion itself and them being the two to have visions foretelling the reapers) with their differing ideas on how to get to the same ends. It would have done a much better job of making the game involve tough decisions and take a look at what it means to be renegade or paragon. But no, BioWare stuck Cerberus with that villain role because the reapers obviously had to die due to plot and people couldn't say the same for Cerberus.

Love the details with Ash and James and Anderson.
I'd be excited to see Shepard reconnecting with her Mom, and I'm wondering if she and Garrus are going to get to talk at some point?

Can I just say again how much I'm loving this story? Again, the characterizations are spot on, and the changes you've made are believable. It's very plausible that the Turian hierarchy would've done something like with Sovereign's corpse.

As far as AU ME3 fics go, this is one of the better ones I've read. Not only are the divergences concrete and sensible, but your writing style does a lot of justice to the ME universe. I love how you slide between the characters' thoughts and embellish the universe - it's the "Intersitium" style that I love so much. I'm enjoying both interpretations of Shepard and Garrus, and I feel like their relationship is a solid one. I hope you keep this going (and that you'll portray the other Squaddies with the same level of care) - this fic shows a lot of great promise!

Great chapter, creepy and atmospheric. I feel bad for the conventional weapons team. I really liked the confrontation with Pallian.
And Garrus underestimating his own leadership ability is, well, so very Garrus.

Nice action and characterization. I like how this was a twist on the Mars and Eden Prime missions.

I always question whether Shepard *could* have left Cerberus at the outset of ME2. They invested 4 billion credits in her; are they really going to just let her walk? I don't think it would have been that easy. (Not a criticism, Ash seems consistent with her in-game portrayl here.)

I get why Dr. Eva might get the upper hand on Ash. But when she took out Kaidan I was confused why he didn't just use his biotics. Sometimes Bioware's need for theatrics gets the best of them.

I like how well the Mars and Prime missions fit together and I'm happy to see Javik is in the story. Great chapter!
