This was clever. I liked how Maria picked up on the fact that he didn't actually kill her or Fury when he had a direct shot. (I just watched the movie and noticed that, too.) I like how she was able to help Clint.
| jpgFury chapter 1 . 2/7/2013
I like the way this wraps it all up nicely - it gives a great explanation for why the guy that never missed had soooo many crappy shots when under Loki's cammand.
Really enjoyed this )
| TheNaggingCube chapter 1 . 2/4/2013
This was good. For me the first shot to Fury proved he was fighting.
| whovian42 chapter 1 . 1/13/2013
Love that it was Hill who got through to him, and love the way she did it.
I had noticed the first two scenes during the movie, but the last one was a perfect kicker.
Well written, well characterized. :)
| random reader chapter 1 . 10/22/2012
A nice look at what could have happened. One nit pick, a bow of Clint's draw weight wouldnt leave red welts. Speaking from experience here. A small 20 lb target bow leaves welts. A 30lb will leave welts and bruises that last for weeks. You get up to 60 lbs of draw (Clint's would have to be that at minimum; I imagine it would be closer to 100) and we're talking having the skin ripped off your arms. You don't use those things without protective gear unless you have a wish to lose use of your arms. Not saying clint wouldnt in his guilt but you've underplayed the damage dramatically. It's little things like his, easily researched, that can throw a reader out of the story. I had a hard time getting back in.

Love this! I find that I am a sucker for Maria and Clint stories/interactions.

Nice! I haven't read too much on Maria Hill and never really understood her importance in the Marvel universe until I researched some things on her character. But I think this story is a good perspective on her character because it shows her place has Fury's right hand. And this story gives insight into talents of knowing how to draw out an agent's doubts and concerns and being able to motivate them, especially an agent as troubled as Clint. I liked this story very much. Good job :)

That was extremely amazing. As soon as she said, "That was me, Clint," I got chills. Once again, you've nailed it. Wow.
| Sepsis chapter 1 . 8/30/2012
That was such a great idea, I loved it! :)
| ferggirl99 chapter 1 . 8/13/2012
I love this. I've worked my way through your whole Avengers list, almost, and this one is definitely up at the top. I like the team dynamic, even though it's subtle, and the way Hill had to prove it to him. Nice job.
| obsessionisawonderfulthing chapter 1 . 8/3/2012
(as usual...but still. It doesn't make your work any LESS amazing)

Yes! As soon as I saw him miss Hill in the movie I was like, "Hawkeye never misses" Thanks so much for writing something to that effect. It's great!
