I always hoped they stopped their squabbling long enough to have Christmas at Bobby's the next year.
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 8/9/2012
Awwww. Poor Sam! It was quite a sacrifice for him to put on that Christmas for his brother, but it meant more to Dean than he could possibly imagine. :D
Nicely done. :)

That fit the episode perfectly

Isn't it weird how many of us went for AVSC in this challenge - and this scene in particular; talk about a hive mind!
This is so moving, exactly how I would imagine Sam thinking at this time; nice work x

A great tear jerking moment Glad you accepted the challenge
| MeAzrael chapter 1 . 7/30/2012
Wonderfully written, Vanessa. Loved it, the "cheerless slap against his ears", the moisture on Sam's cheeks and his emotions. Desperately sad. Of course that's the favorite episode this week. Tsk tsk. Winchester fans :-)

"His heart was full—too full—of something far more crushing than joyW
Great line, Vanessa - nice use of WOW
| Swellison chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
Nice look into Sam's thoughts as he buries his own feelings to give Dean what his brother wants and needs, one last Christmas together.

Loved this! One of my fav episodes... and Dean _did_ deserve his little Christmas...
| Twinchy chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
You are breaking my heart SO much with this - just like the whole episode broke my heart over and over again because I could feel both brothers' pain. *sniffles inconsolably*
I could understand of course why Dean would want that (last) Christmas but I undoubtedly saw why Sammy had such a hard time granting it to him, although it certainly wasn't about denying his brother's wish at all. The entire time, I wanted to hug the two boys and never let go of them again.
And there was never any realy doubt Sammy wouldn't choke down his own despair, much like you wrote, and celebrate Dean's last Christmas with his big brother.
I particularly loved your sentence "His heart was full—too full—of something far more crushing than joy". Amazing!
| Jimelda chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
Dean deserved his Christmas. It was probably around that line where I started tearing up. For Sam to put on a happy face and give his brother the Christmas he wanted...wow. It still amazes me every time I'm shown the depth of their love for each other. Thanks for the reminder, it's always nice to see the two of them like this.
