| Saissa chapter 31 . 7/30
Dumbledore will be calling Harry a Dark Lord - and him not even out of school yet.
But then again tom riddle was also a dark lord before he left school as well.

What caused the friendship to end in his reality? Two words: Lucius Malfoy. I kind of get the distinct impression if it weren’t for that man that Narcissa would have been named Harry’s godmother.
I would say “that poor boy” but he deserved it for what he said to Lil’s.
With a family that is as obviously ancient as the Eveningshades are, there is going to be a significant amount of genetic drift. Meaning that pretty much everyone in the world at this point shares a small amount of Eveningshade blood, but likely only those with the highest concentrations of it can manifest all of the gifts. That said, since everyone likely shares Eveningshade blood to some extent, that means that Eveningshade magic can be used to force compliance from just about every person in the world if Family Oaths are invoked.

Dumbledore's old lover, Gellert Grindelwald is behind this order of the Fox...

I'm pretty sure that the the goddess has 3 forms - girl, young woman and old crone. So this has something to do with that.
I just hope that Bella doesnt get all jealous that Harry copulated with a goddess...

Um… just out of curiosity but was that the Easter Holidays that they were on? I ask because the name that Samhain is most commonly known by in the modern day and age is Halloween, and as such if they had just gotten back from the Easter Holidays, they wouldn’t be ready for Samhain for another few months, and certainly not before the summer vacation. It certainly shouldn’t be less than three weeks away from the start of any of the Hogwarts’ terms. It is 8 to 9 weeks after the start of the fall term at the very least.
Interestingly, using Newgrange for the site of a ritual on Samhain would have been bloody pointless as New Grange is aligned to the Winter Solstice, aka Yule. The problem is that Samhain isn’t even technically a celestial event, it is simply the date that marks the halfway point between the Autumnal Equinox (roughly September 21st) and the Winter Solstice (roughly December 20th), and is as such considered one of two dates when the veil between the living and the deceased is at its weakest. The other such date being Walpurgisnacht, the night before May Day (May 1st).
Well… as long as she hires someone better for the role of History of Magic than Cuthbert Binns.
I pity the fool who tries to convince Lily to leave the Wizarding World and never return.
I do not like it when Albus Dumbledore says words like that.

Everyone in the family at Hogwarts? That would include Gideon and Fabian Prewett when they arrive wouldn’t it? Oh and Barty Crouch Jr. too… god damnit why did he make that offer? Training Regulus wouldn’t be all that big of a problem but still.
Oh, so it was a simple Notice-Me-Not charm, and not the much more potent Fidelius Charm?
ROFLMAO, so does this mean that Gellert Grindelwald for some reason ISN’T rotting in Nurmengard?
LOL, the testicles have some of the highest concentrations of pain receptors in the human body… the scrotum on the other hand has one of the lowest :D

Of course the Muggle Government has a way of monitoring the Wizarding World… the Wizarding World technically owes fealty to the Queen of England, so it only makes sense that she can monitor them.
No Albus, your sister was not a victim of Muggle Intolerance. Yes she was victimized by Muggles, but it was ultimately your own arrogance and bravado that led to her demise, not that of the Muggles.
Not to mention kidnapping Muggleborn Infants like that is a surefire way to bring down the British Military on the Wizarding World and that is not a fight that the Wizards would ever win.
Interestingly it is a half-blood child of the Second World War who is leading the Purist Faction to inevitable war, so stating that the need for secrecy was created because of fear of the warmongering attitudes of half-bloods and Muggleborns is insanely ironic.
Um… Dark Lord bent on destroying the entirety of their world? Voldemort anyone? Doesn’t help the fact that despite being biologically a Half-blood, he was raised as if he were Muggleborn. So really the definition of Bagnold’s fears have been met.
LOL, Albus won’t manage to convince either the Potters, Blacks, or their voting blocks, and with those two blocks united he has problems.
The problem with Dumbledore’s entire outlook is that Muggles outnumber the Wizarding World by approximately 1,000 to 1. There is just no way that the Wizards are capable of wiping out the Muggles, and even if there was, repopulating the earth with nothing but Wizards is self-defeatist due to the utter and complete lack of genetic diversity that would result in.
So according to you, Dumbledore had exactly 9 years between the time he stopped colluding with Grindelwald to turn his life around and become the respected leader of the light that the world expected him to become before his fated defeat of Gellert Grindelwald that netted him the Elder Wand? And this is ignoring the fact that the actual canonical falling out between Albus and Grindelwald occurred in the summer of 1899 when a three way duel occurred between Albus, Aberforth, and Gellert that ultimately resulted in the death of Ariana Dumbledore. This falling out having occurred less than two months AFTER Dumbledore initially met Grindelwald.
Oh, by the way, the duel between Albus, Gellert, and Aberforth that resulted in Ariana’s death is BOOK CANON, meaning that it is undisputed hard fact. See Chapters 18 & 28 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the relevant information.
Honestly speaking, the reason Dumbledore is so “Pro-Forgiveness” and against Lethal Force is because he was never quite able to determine whose spell was ultimately responsible for his sister’s death, and was forced to live with the guilt that he very well could have been the one to have fired the spell that killed her.
Remus/Cissy would be neat. Certainly better than Remus/Tonks.
Wow, Walburga could you impersonate a Prewett any more?
| DalkonCledwin chapter 22 . 7/30
So you aged Dumbledore up significantly then? In the canonical stories in order for Dumbledore to have been 135 the year would need to have been 2016 as he was born in 1881. In the 1970’s he would have been between the years 89 and 98 years of age depending on the year.
If you indeed did make it so that Dumbledore was 135 years of age at the conclusion of the 1971-1972 School Year then that would mean he would have been around 150-160 years old when Harry left his own time period, which would be outright ridiculous for someone capable of dueling Voldemort to a standstill.
Would one such status quo challenging uprising have been S.P.E.W.?
They did WHAT in front of Gringotts? Are they freaking stupid? Hindering the Goblins in making a profit like that is a surefire way to incite a Goblin Rebellion!
Why am I getting the distinct impression that Albus Dumbledore has drawn the unfortunate conclusion that Muggleborns are directly responsible for the slaughter in Hogsmeade Village the other day?
There was an uprising during the same time period that the Eveningshades disappeared from the Wizengamot? Now that can’t be a coincidence can it?
Founding House of Granger? ROFLMAO you do realize that there is a canonical Pureblood Wizarding family by the name of Dagworth-Granger, right? Also, I would laugh if Harry managed to get Hermione back into her Wizengamot seat, that would be the ultimate coup for House Elf rights, wouldn’t it?
Not to nitpick, but the Malfoy family came to Britain with King William the First of England and Duke of Normandy (also known as William the Conqueror) during what became known as the Norman Invasion of Britain. They would have been long since established in Britain by the time of Napoleon. In fact the Malfoys have been in Britain long enough that they very well COULD have been a founding house considering that William gave them a land grant (fiefdom) all the way back in the years between 1028 and 1087. The Wizengamot and Ministry weren’t founded until 1707 (which is interesting considering that the first Muggleborn uprising according to your world setting occurred less than 70 years later).
They say the worst thing you could ever do is to piss off your doctor, because while a Martial Artist is trained in hundreds of ways to incapacitate and kill, only your Doctor knows how your body works on such an intrinsically fundamental level that they could take you apart without even trying. This is why I likened Dorea Potter to Retsu Unohana :D
Yeah… I think they are going to need to use that family magic to defend themselves against a war on two fronts if my guess is accurate. Fortunately they have the elder Potters and the Head of House Black on their sides.
Egypt still is an oasis of lush vegetation, at least at certain times of the year within the Nile River Valley.
I am going out on a limb and assuming that the Eveningshades can trace their lineage to the period of history known to Biblical Scholars as the Antediluvian era? Possibly with them even tracing their lineage to the Nephilim themselves. In fact them being related to the Nephilim actually kind of makes sense given their purported powers as those powers are kind of outside the realm of what is normal even by Wizarding standards.
Unfortunately Dorea, James most certainly WILL be driven by his hormones when he gets to Harry’s age. But then when he gets to that age he will have his own Eveningshade to distract him.
I would like to see a how a Wizard with a wand handles a 0.45 Thompson submachine gun unloading its clip into them. I don’t think most Protego’s are rated against an average of 600 Rounds per Minute or 60 Rounds per Second. And this was a gun that was still in use by the Irish Republican Army (both branches) during the 1970’s. And it only gets worse from there with the introduction of the Armalite and AK-47.
And that is to say nothing of what would happen if a Muggle were to sight a Wizard from between a half mile to mile and a half away with a Sniper Rifle. They would be dead before they even thought to put up a Protego.
Then there are the absolutely massive array of explosive charges that Muggles have at their disposal. These weapons don’t care whether you are a Witch, Wizard, or Muggle, they will kill you all the same with just as brutal of efficiency.
Plus, daggers, especially silver ones, are just sensible in a world where Werewolves exist. Conjuration can’t create base metals like Silver and Gold, otherwise there would be no reason for Alchemy to exist, so it stands to reason that in order to kill a Werewolf you need true Silver, not transfigured Silver.

I am assuming that the Black’s, Potters, Longbottoms, and Bones families are all examples of Founding families… while the Malfoy’s in particular are a Hereditary family?
Yeah your description of the need for a consort bond for hereditary houses seems to confirm the fact that the Bones house at least is one of the Founding houses since the Bones family has a woman sitting in office at the time Harry was originally attending Hogwarts, and had no direct male heir at that point in time.
Mistress of Mayhem? Does that mean that James got his pranking habits not from his father, but from his mother instead?
ROFLMAO… strict old Minerva McGonagall was one of the precursors to the Marauders? I don’t buy it. I guess this also means that Minerva is something like Fay Dunbar’s Aunt or something?
I am envisioning Dorea basically being a clone of Retsu Unohana as far as personality goes…
So basically Dorea was the Daphne Greengrass of her generation?
That Fidelius Charm must have been severely weakened for her to be able to have dispelled it with nothing more than a Finite Incantatem like that… unless the implication is that they were hidden with nothing more than a glamour?
If they were magically shrunk yet were still large enough to take up an entire book shelf all to themselves that must have been an incredibly busy year for the Wizengamot.
I am kind of disappointed that Marjory didn’t get away :(
Um… isn’t the Wizengamot Historian Marjory?
The Dumbledore’s have possessed their hereditary seat for a hundred and sixty years? Basically since Dumbledore’s father was alive, yes? I would have thought their hereditary seat would have been lost when their father was incarcerated in Azkaban before either of his son’s reached their majority? And it’s not much of a hereditary seat since it has only passed from father to son ONCE and neither Albus nor Aberforth have any children. Might have been better to place them in the Commons at that point since the line is going to die when Dumbledore and Aberforth die. Best they can hope for as far as maintaining the hereditary nature of House Dumbledore is if Dumbledore names someone his successor.
You forgot a space between Dumbledore and presiding. Most of your other spelling mistakes and errors are easy enough to ignore, but that is annoying.
Wow… Dumbledore really went there… didn’t he?
LOL, something tells me that many of those “Great Houses” lights were darkened LONG, LONG before the Great War.
LOL, so Dumbledore is proposing that people shouldn’t have the right to use lethal force to defend themselves when lethal force is being used to attack them? That is fucking suicidal.
Dumbledore does realize that if this legislation goes through that he has basically made it a cake walk for people like Voldemort to just walk all over the Wizarding World?
You misspelled Rookwood as Rockwood…
Well… the Marauders strike again… or is that the Mistresses of Mayhem?

I did like the explanation for how and why the muggle born are "over running" the wizarding world -
I also see that noone has used their brains and tried to work out why! noone knows or cares that these muggle borns are descended from squibs. No they use this brainless excuse that the muggles are stealing their magic. Just how stupid do these wizards think we muggles are?
| Saissa chapter 21 . 7/29
WIW - OMG - the Marauders were originally Blacks and NOT Potters!
And of course Sirius could stay with the Potters when he left home, because Dorea was his great aunt and James was his first cousin once removed.
I LOVE this story!
I LOVE genealogy too!
| Saissa chapter 20 . 7/29
Now I am beginning to understand where this other Harry Potter comes from - the one with butterscotch kisses that Luna is waiting for. Luna's Harry is the son of James Potter and Lily Evans / Eveningshade in this NEW timeline. Also born in 1980, but who does not lose his parents and who is raised as a gray or neutral.
While the Harry that married Bellatrix, (and who was orphaned in 1981) stays back in 1971 and raises up a new family of Eveningshades.
I will also assume that the orphan Harry forgos his Potter name since James Potter will live and survive (in this new timeline) to become the Head of House Potter. He probably will forgo the Black name as well, assuming that Sirius is not sent to Azkaban and is also not killed in any DOM battle in the new timeline.

Orion is a very lucky man - that Harry was able to forgive (although he probably will not forget) the insults he and Bella received.

Great story - am enjoying this very much!

I hope Dorea is OK with keeping secrets from her husband and from old dufus Dumbles! LOL
