I was afraid that was going to happen. But the Dukes never seem to fail when the chips are down - somehow they'll set the record straight. ... I hope!
| mille libri chapter 25 . 3/7
That was sweet - and Rosco being Rosco added just the right touch of normalcy.
| DixieDavenport chapter 62 . 2/19
Loved the chapter! Enos needed his head examined for going back to those men's camp, but it looks like it worked for him so far. Well if they head back East to Maine at least LAPD won't be looking for one of their own. So they will now be following Luke East, after he followed them West - yelp that's about right for Hazzard folks.
I so loved Luke's visit to the Gold Club! Went a bit different than what I expected after I saw were he was going. Come on Luke is known not to be a Saint and a former Marine to boot - can't believe that is the first 'club' he's been to! I mean he dated some of Maybelle's girls before they were her girls! The "I don't have any money" was a good one, and sure got the manager out to talk to him.
| JenD16 chapter 62 . 2/19
Oh god I really thought Luke was about to find them. I keep going back and forth on whether I want Luke to catch up to them. I loved the Daisy/Enos fluff like scenes in this chapter.
| Enos'sGal chapter 62 . 2/19
Aw, poor Daisy. I really feel for her, but I think it was good that Enos saw her that morning in Hazzard and knew what was happening. I felt bad for him, too, but as much as it must have hurt, at least now he could be of comfort to her. When he approached her at the campfire, I think he knew he was different than the others. It was good that Daisy felt safe enough to open up and share her regrets. I think that was very healing for both of them. Loved the memories of the race track, too.
I snickered over Luke. He is only human after all. I can just see Uncle Jesse's index finger waggling at him when he walked in that place. He was true to his character though and sounds like he's on to something!
Enos's unmentionables. ROFL! At least Boo and Dirk were gone! I was worried for a minute, but then again they aren't out of the "creek" yet!
This chapter came together very nicely! Great job! : )
| mille libri chapter 24 . 2/3
Oh, it's not looking good for Enos, not at all. How is Daisy going to help him get out of this mess?
| mille libri chapter 23 . 1/21
I love that Enos found the strength to testify in Daisy's quiet support.
| mille libri chapter 22 . 1/18
This was a great, gripping chapter! I think your changes in perspective move seamlessly from character to character, giving us insight just where we need it. Daisy's courage and honesty under the shame of her questioning are very moving, and Enos's control over himself in the face of the revelations is quite impressive.
| DixieDavenport chapter 61 . 1/14
Good thing Enos had good hearing and knew what he heard! Funny how sound you hear everyday at work get ingrained in you. Magazines being loaded into a handgun, handcuffs being 'set' to use, a cell door latching even a styafoam cup being moved out of the bars - heard that sound once and took two larger than normal steps just as a cup of coffee hit the hall behind me where I should have been!
Not a real good time for a flashback, Enos. Glad he pulled himself together in time to catch up with Boo.
Daisy should have known immediately that there was something wrong when Enos came into the shower room with her in the shower.
Poor Enos, got to love a stubborn and strong female like Daisy! Planning to go after anyone who hurt him and smart enough to reason that they should go together. Good thing Enos looked at that trail map and knew at least something about the park. Glad Enos was smart enough to know what could be replaced in their gear and that it wasn't important enough to die over.
Glad Enos saw the good sense in Daisy needing to know how to protect herself if the case arose again. Daisy was right, we learned DT's (Defense Tactics) hands on at the Correctional Academy. Just like an inmate told me once while complaining about the leg irons saying I just didn't know what they felt like - My reply was how do you think I learned to use them? We put them on and took them off each other. Yes boots off is a good idea! Humm first the boots, now Enos's shirt - this may not be good if they keep loosing clothes.
About time Enos saw that this is where the waiting had to end! My first boyfriend once told me, "If you love something set it free and if it comes back it's yours, ..." How many times have these two kept coming back to each other? Well, they may not have the paperwork or the preacher, but they have the rings and their promise to each other. I know one grey haired Uncle and a couple cousins that just might ask to see a license! At this point words weren't needed between them! Loved it! Can't wait to see how they explain getting 'married' in Utah!
| Enos'sGal chapter 61 . 1/8
HOLY CARP! (Yes I mean carp!) I'm bawling my eyes out over here! Wow, where do I start!?
LOVED Enos's thoughts and instincts as he recognizes the gun and the danger around them. The flashback to prison was way vivid and very well done. For a moment I wondered if it was real, too! Loved how he saved Daisy and then what a way to figure out he couldn't keep her away anymore? Yikes finding the bodies was a real reality check for him!
Best Fluff Scene Ever! I'm still bawling my eyes out! Loved the training session and it was a perfect segue into the fluff. The rings...OMGoodness...
Amazing chapter! Best one yet!
| mygh91 chapter 61 . 1/8
Beautiful! I love that after all the pain and torture they get their moment. I was, I admit, terrified you were going to interrupt them with phyco one and two. Thank you for not succumbing to that trick. And the wedding rings were a very nice touch. Very Enos type move to want to give her an outward sign of his commitment to her, And I am so happy that your writing muse has insisted that you give us these frequent updates lately. How can we bribe her to stick around? Loving every minute of this story. I am assuming Enos will now have to see to it that Dirk and Boo get caught. I just don't see him being able to let that go.
| DixieDavenport chapter 60 . 12/29/2013
Well, they may not have to be in Hazzard for things to go wrong! Otherwise, Luke would have seen them get off the train and I think things would be heading in a much different / better direction about now.
If Luke is leaving the west heading to Atlanta in search of a hooker instead of looking there for Daisy he's getting way off track.
Interesting information found by Gary! I hope he keeps digging around.
Yeah, I sure hope Enos tunes the 'cop' in him back in before it's too late for him or Daisy. These two surely seem dangerous!
| mygh91 chapter 60 . 12/29/2013
Man are you good with suspense. There I was sitting on the edge of my seat. and you send us over to Luke and the Dukes. And a touch of hope for Enos. Then, bam right back to the evil among them. Good to see Enos' cop instincts kick in, even if it is a little late in the game. Thanks for the quick update, but don't forget I am sitting here of the edge. Happy New Year!
| Enos'sGal chapter 60 . 12/29/2013
WHOA! This chapter had me on edge all the way through, but I like that! : )
I can just feel Enos's yearning to go back to police work and the thoughts about being in his patrol car were very vivid and well done.
Good job, Gary! Let's hope Luke can track things down, but good grief did he just miss Enos and Daisy AGAIN!? Ack! Here I was hoping he might be the one to save the day!
Okay, now Dirk is one creepy dude. Enos needs to cut bait, get Daisy and run, even if he has to pull her out of the shower! Oh, that might be fun! BWAHAHA! Seriously though, nice job on the suspense! Keep up the good work because I'm DYING to know what happens next!
| enosgalpal chapter 59 . 12/26/2013
Okay, I don't like this chapter in that Enos is far too trusting of these two. I should think after his experiences up to this point, he'd be the one with the bad feeling, even before Daisy. He just sounds too much like the old Enos, before jail. I do love the way you transport us right there, I felt like I was riding with them. God bless, and keep them coming.
