![]() ![]() ![]() This is a lovely addition to the tale. Great to see the boys on top form, despite injuries:-) |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is really amusing. I especially liked their excuse for the poor guard at the end. :) Escape through the window indeed. :) Thank you so much for writing this quirky little tale. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Another well done story. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I did |
![]() ![]() ![]() Type your review here...What a great sequel to your earlier story, which I also enjoyed so much! But this one actually stands well on its own – I haven’t read the other story recently so it’s not fresh in my head, but all this worked well anyway. Hochstetter’s rage is absolutely in character, and the rivalry with his colleague gives an added zest to it that makes it psychologically plausible. The reactions of LeBeau, Newkirk, and Carter are equally in character and very funny, frustrating Hochstetter right and left. I chuckled over the Carter/LeBeau debate on temperature, and LeBeau’s correction of Hochstetter’s pronunciation in particular. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very well done! After all this, Hochstetter really needs a vacation...but what would the poor dear do? Maybe he needs to go back to interrogation 101 and relearn the basics:-) The saboteurs bit made me LOL, BTW; I knew I missed your stories for a reason... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very funny! I actually felt sorry (well, almost, anyway) for Hochstetter! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh this was precious. Way too many precious moments and dialogue to single out as particularly great because it fits together beautifully. It reads just like an episode, everyone is is character and Hochstetter is suitably zany for the occasion. Your descriptions are great as well, particularly of Carter. You're the full meal deal, Belphegor. It's always a pleasure to read your stuff, particularly your funny pieces. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I could have laughed myself ill, if I hadn't already done so today reading DICK AND JANE AND VAMPIRE. Overkill. It was glorious. Thank you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() A very enjoyable piece, that had me laughing out loud several times. A good missing ending indeed! I love how you got under Hochstetter's skin here - wasn't it scary? - and see the more familiar, friendlier characters as he would. He really sounded just like him - well done! I got to love (how could I not...) how you wrote Langenscheidt. He'd *so* react like that, yes! Carter, too, was hilarious several times. "You really need a vacation or something." And how much he looked like a 6-year-old caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He does, doesn't he... And LeBeau keeping him off balance with his corrections on his French LOL A worthy addition to the earlier story. Thank you! |
![]() ![]() Very nice. You capture Hochstetter's stubborn obsessiveness, and deep frustration. It's nice to see that it isn't only Hogan who can drive him up the wall. The gradual demolition of his theory is beautifully paced. Poor Langenscheidt! he's getting a rough time all round just lately. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Poor Hochstetter! As if his life isn't stressful enough already... I really got a chuckle out of this story. I could hear Howard Caine's voice saying Hochstetter's lines, and even see him grinding his teeth in frustration. I was looking for something light and entertaining, and this was it, in spades. The only criticism I really have is it was just a vignette. There wasn't a whole lot of THERE there. While that's certainly not uncommon for this type of fanfic - filling in the missing details of a canon story - this felt like it could be so much more. You should think about expanding it into a longer piece. It definitely has the potential, and you handle the characters very well. I'd like to read what this could grow into. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Good thing I got the alert for this today; because I realized I never got to the original story. Anyway, you have a knack for comedy, that's for sure. Lot's of chuckles this evening. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I almost feel bad for old Hochstetter in this one. He really is no match for our heroes in a battle of wits (or with anyone, for that matter). You do a really good job of dialogue in this. I love it when LeBeau criticizes Hochstetter's pronunciation. Well we *did* borrow the words from the French! LOL |
![]() ![]() ![]() It was hysterical how the men so expertly gaslighted Hochstetter. I'm surprised they didn't have to take him out of there in a straitjacket. Funniest part for me was when Hogan turned Hochstetter's line back on him -"What is this man doing here?" |
