| AltheaJams chapter 4 . 12/7/2012
I've seen this story rec'd all over ADF and had to check it out. It's every bit as great as I was led to believe! So well-written. And given the subject matter, it could so easily be bleak in its tone. But it's not. It's actually rather life-affirming, if that makes any sense :) At least that's the feel I get so far.. who knows what twists and turns you have in store.
Thanks for sharing this with us! Really, such a great read.

| kjghkf chapter 10 . 12/6/2012
I don't know if Jessica even wants to be turned, how will Bella handle that? On a random note I should add that I kinda miss Seth, for as little as we saw him, I loved his and Jess's interaction really adored it...maybe I'm the minority but I always obsess and like the characters we see the least of lol. Would say more but I'm off to London in a few minutes. SO EXCITE.

So Bella seems to be considering vampire more and more for Jessica, but is it what Jessica wants?
| thimbles chapter 10 . 12/6/2012
Beautiful chapter, lovely.
- He gave in. After fetching her bag from the hook by her front door, Bella took his hand and set her feet on auto-pilot. Once they reached the paved road that would lead them into town, a few unbroken street lights flickered to life. Their glows warred with each other and the headlights of the few cars that rattled past, casting long shadows in different directions—as if Bella and Edward's twins walked a few steps behind them. The cold that had temporarily melted during the afternoon seeped back in, curling around them and quickening their steps. -
I love everything about this paragraph.
- Bella looked up at the gray ceiling of clouds—at the stars she couldn't see. For a moment, there was only the silence, the approaching night, and the gloved hand clasped in hers. It was crazy, but in that second, she thought they could run. They could pump their joined arms and pound their feet against the cracked asphalt until they found somewhere new—somewhere untouched by orange lights and red scars.
It was only a fleeting daydream, but it made the icy weight of guilt drop into her stomach. Jessica hadn't featured in her imaginary flight plan, except as one of the problems to leave behind. How could she think of her as a burden, even for an instant?
Edward squeezed her fingers tighter, like he knew. -
I feel so much for Bella - for all of them really - but she's carrying such a burden. There's a name for the feeling when you're standing on a cliff edge and that thought pops into your mind of jumping. You won't actually do it, you're not suicidal, but that bizarre thought just pops up. It's really unsettling, makes you question yourself. I wish I could remember what's it's called, I read it in an Alexander McCall-Smith book ... anyway, that's kind of what this thought of Bella's reminds me of. Kind of.
- After a moment of hesitation, Edward pulled himself up the rope ladder and sat behind her, spreading his legs so her hips were between his knees, like they were a couple of kids about to go down the slide together. - SLIDE, guys, SLIDE!
- His mouth split into a grin wide enough to show the crinkly lines at the corners of his eyes: battle scars, in a way. Evidence that against all odds, he'd survived long enough to start to develop crow's feet. - LOVE LOVE LOVE
- Loving one person with Margaret Brown Syndrome was enough heartbreak. - :'(
- "I think, therefore Garrett and Emmett get boners." - still cackling over this.
MORE! I NEED MORE. GIVE ME ALL THE THINGS.
Honestly, I love this story so much. I love your beautiful characterization, I love your clever plot, I love your stunning writing.

More questions - but not the answers to go with them. I'm patient ;)
| moosals chapter 10 . 12/6/2012
What was Garrett up to before answering the phone? It could only be kissing or Jessica would have had the answer to her big question ;)
I love the feel of this chapter - is it calm or maybe just plain old exhaustion! It is good to see Edward and Bella getting closer, but they both seem to have reservations - hers being slightly more obvious than his.
I have come up with another theory, I can see potential holes in it, but it is possible for people to lie or tell only part of the truth. It is a follow on to my earlier review in which I suspected that Bella may have met Edward before, but doesn't remember him. I am now wondering whether Edward was a vampire at that first meeting - maybe their relationship was affected by the prejudices she has grown up with - and he did something to go back in time to become human for her. I am guessing he has time-travelled more than once. There is more, but this could be way off base so I'll stop here.
Thank you as always :)

When I saw that you won't be posting for three weeks, I thought about saving this for later, but yeah right, as if I could stay away! (Also, we posted on the same day, and for some reason this makes me all squee-y)
"Like Bella, Garrett watched the scene from a distance, smiling to himself." - I sigh. I swoon.
"The bending of the metal made a noise like stage thunder." - love this, so fresh
" Their glows warred with each other and the headlights of the few cars that rattled past, casting long shadows in different directions—as if Bella and Edward's twins walked a few steps behind them." - oh man, this was so beautiful, and I found it to be so poignant, especially followed by her vision of running away.
After a moment of hesitation, Edward pulled himself up the rope ladder and sat behind her, spreading his legs so her hips were between his knees, like they were a couple of kids about to go down the slide together. - aw, so cute. I'm loving their alone-time. The tone of it is so quiet and intimate.
"Danger skimmed his fingers down her sides and settled his hands on her waist." nice! and then they start acting like kids, and for few minutes, everything's perfect. I love this scene. It's like they're the only two people, their bubble.
What did Bella interrupt!? OMG, the UST of two people I can't even see.
""Do you think Edward knows?"
Bella rolled her eyes. "Uh, he and Carlisle are good friends and all, but I don't think they're that close."" lol, this made me laugh out loud. A little nod to the Carlisle/Edward slahsy lovers? haha
wonderful chapter of perfection. I loved it and this story. Wow, can't wait for the next update. :D

| TiramiSue84 chapter 10 . 12/6/2012
SO much love for this story!
Bella and Edward sharing a moment there was awfully cute! 3 And yet, I'm waiting for things to take a turn for the bad. Not that I WANT them to suffer, it's just... so many things can go wrong - at least one of said things *will go wrong, I can feel it. GAH!
Thank you for the update!
| NKubie chapter 10 . 12/6/2012
I soooo wanted this to be Bella and Edward's time, but then again, I want them sober when they do finally kiss.
And if Jessica being changed wasn't the question, now I really have to wonder what is. Letting the MBS finally claim her? I don't think so, not without a fight. The mystery is killing me!
Have a wonderful holiday season!
