Awesome as usual. I always love the shit out of your stuff.
| ifandomifeel chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Aww... that was so amazingly sweet! I love clingy Sam... and adorable Sam. Then again, pre-adult Sam is also cute! :D Good job, enjoyed it immensely!
| missingmikey chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Another great brother story. Love how Dean sees Sam as his kid! Love his love for the Impala. Well done!
| mb64 chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
This is excellent! You've done a wonderful job of getting into Dean's thoughts and feelings. I vote that you become a writer for the show!
| Fuzzball457 chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Yet again another awesome one-shot. At first I was a little worried that 2,600 words would not be enough to tell the story, that this would be one of those where the author kind of leaves you hanging in the middle of the action. Like Dean wakes up and gets Sam out the door and the end. But you did a perfect job melding in thoughts and actions and stilling getting the whole story in there, including the Thank God I woke up and managed to save us and Damn I love this kid reflection part. I also loved how Dean totally didn't care about himself, like with his feet and such, only about Sam. "If smoke was getting in his lungs, then it was also getting in Sam's lungs...and that was unacceptable." Even though it probably shouldn't have, that totally made me laugh. The whole concept...Dean's got smoke in his lungs? That's unfortunate. Sam's got smoke in his lungs? Hell no. Totally unacceptable. Nice balance of humor and seriousness. But then again, when do you have not have a nice balance? :D

| KKBELVIS chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
hey didn't know there was a hunter in their midst; didn't know there was an expert who was no stranger to fire and who in fact had developed a sixth-sense of detection for the element identified by smoke and heat.
Guh...if ever that was Dean! Just guh!
Dean's heart stuttered to a stop at the realization and then immediately began beating again; hammering in his chest at the rush of memories that flooded his mind, even after all these years, anytime he saw flames – a burning nursery...a dying mother...a frantic father...a crying baby Sammy.
Heart pounding words!
And this: Because while motels and the occasional apartment came and went, the Impala was their constant – was their true home – and it always felt good to be with her...just like family.
Just beautifully done...and love Sam was so unawares.
| Thorny Hedge chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
| Victoria chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Love this one! Can only imagine Dean's initial horror when he realized "fire"! Your stories always perfectly detail Dean's care and concern for Sammy no matter the circumstances. Another good job with the life and times of Sam & Dean Winchester!
| YellowReader chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Wow! I love the emotions you capture with so few words. You should write a book - I would definitely read it :)
| NetMyne01 chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Loved the way you brought the past and the present together in this fic! The fact that Sam stayed asleep (even if he was drugged up), feeling safe with Dean just shows how much trust he has in his big brother.
| CeCe Away chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
Really good. That last sentence is ominous, knowing he'll have to do it again at Stanford.
| skag trendy chapter 1 . 8/6/2012
A terrifying trip down memory lane for Dean that night eh? Good job he woke up when he did. Would love to see how John reacts to the news that his kids narrow escape from yet another burning building.
Cheers for the lovely story, me dear.
