Reviews for The Avengers' Book Club
Shian1998 chapter 3 . 8/27
Another great story! Felt sorry for Bruce in the first chapter. I probably would have felt the same way as him if Tony had asked me to start a book club for Steve, Thor and Loki! Though I agreed with Tony when he explained why Bruce was the most suitable for the job.

Thor's answers didn't seem surprising to me. Expected him to pick Gryffindor as his House, and Harry, Mad-Eye, and Kingsley are definitely the type of characters that he would identify with. I kind of agree with Bruce's concerns about Thor introducing Quidditch to Asgard, though the Asgardians' strength would probably make golf difficult for them as well, as they could easily lose the ball if they hit it too far. Thor on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr?! That seems like a disaster waiting to happen! Thor, if you get confused about anything on social media and you aren't completely sure on what you should do, ask Bruce for advice, not Tony. Save yourself the mental trauma! Nice way to reference Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Looking forward to watching that.

I was expecting Steve to pick Gryffindor as his House due to it being the House of the brave, though his reasons for picking Hufflepuff definitely made a lot of sense. I hadn't thought about which characters Steve would identify with, though Hermione, Remus and Neville do seem like likely candidates.

Like he said to Bruce, I thought Loki seemed much more likely to choose Slytherin, though I considered Ravenclaw (because of the intelligence) to be a close second. Loki apparently still has major issues here, if he's thinking that the desire to rule the world is a healthy or acceptable one. I agreed that he would identify with the bad people who became that way due to being misunderstood, especially Snape, though I disagreed with him saying that Voldemort fits that category. While most bad people, in real life and in fiction, become that way due to the experiences they go through in life, there are some who are just born messed up somehow, with no humanity at all, and Voldemort seemed to me to be one of those. Not to sure which of these categories Barty Crouch Jr would fit, as we don't really know enough about his childhood. The book indicated that he was neglected a lot by his father, but in the chapter when Dumbledore was interrogating him, he came across as an absolutely insane fanatic; willing to commit any monstrous act to further his cause. He did participate in the torture of the Longbottoms as well.

Very good story! Is Loki's wand real, or is he just pranking them? Will Bruce survive with his sanity intact? Will he keep the Hulk under control? Like the other stories, please continue someday!
MozenrathLuvr chapter 2 . 6/28
Thor would be Gryffindor. Steve a puff, and Loki a claw.
Little Bounce chapter 3 . 10/27/2013
Sorry, got logged out of here and it won't let me back in! RRRRR! but enough of my technical woes...

had a good laugh at Loki's house-choosing logic, and poor Thor... spends so much time feeling like a kicked puppy with his thankless brother firing sarcastic barbs at him all the time! but I like it that Thor considers Kingsley to be a touch hardass, lol. And I agree! I think it would take more than an Avada Kedavra to kill him off, though, lol.

Loki likes Barty Crouch Jr? That hadn't been my first thought but I have to admit that it makes perfect sense, tee hee xxxxx
skydancer2ooo chapter 3 . 10/27/2013
Funny but can Loki actually do the killing curse. Plus I never seen Loki speak for any spell he had to do. I like Loki's pick for favorite characters, and house. I like Steve's choice of house and characters. Yes Thor was predictable. Nice story! Maybe the can do Twilight next. Some how I think Loki would burn the book before finishing it.
Sagitarizzie chapter 3 . 10/27/2013
Oooo! How did they forgot that Loki was a sorcerer?
(Love your story!)

A-Box-Of-Scraps chapter 2 . 8/2/2013
Steve: Gryffindor
Loki: Ravenclaw
Thor: Hufflepuff

Love this story as well! I also think that JK Rowling is unusually good, but I'm sure not complaining. :P I try to make people feel emotions in my stories, but it never works unless I'm doing comedy. I tried to write a romance for my friend Calmonix (her Iron Man story rocks, maybe you should read it...?) and she told me it was the funniest thing that she had ever read.

So much for heart wrenching...

Ah, well.

Love the story! Please update it!
odds are never in our favor chapter 2 . 7/7/2013
Thor, Gryffindor. Bruce, Ravenclaw (Hulk, Gryffindor). Steve, Hufflepuff (or Gryffindor). Loki, Slytherin (or Ravenclaw).
The Houses in parentheses are my second choices for their Houses.
Second daughter of Eve chapter 2 . 5/13/2013

Steve-Gryffindor

Or Thor and Loki are reversed.

LittleBounce chapter 2 . 4/17/2013
I reckon you probably will anyway because you have a thick skin and a sound ability to take on review, but i would take all former comments about urgently needing a beta with a bucket-load of salt. You're writing in a second/third language and I can't help but feel that more credit should be given to your fluency where it is clearly shown. That said, full credit to your beta for helping with the colloquial aspect of things as it can really bring dialogue to life and this chapter worked really well.

If I can give any practical dialogue/writing advice at all, I would suggest using more contractions in speech, so say they'll/I'll/they're and so on to mimic speech patterns as far as possible. Your characterisation is really spot-on. I love how you write Bruce in particular: he's so long-suffering and patient, lol!

I don't think you discredited JK Rowling as mass-plotting does indeed require a huge amount of mental speculation, and I loved Bruce's questionnaire. I got the giggles picturing Thor leaning over the questionnaire, carefully considering all his answers. Bless him!
StarliteOracle chapter 2 . 4/17/2013
