I’ve come back to read this three times over the years. It is by far one of the best fanfics of anything I’ve ever read. Thank you for writing it, for giving us more of these characters and their love for each other. Just wonderfully done.

Belle thinks Rumplestiltskin is joking when he asks is its possible to have an obedient and thoughtful wife. But since his only example is flipping Milah, who is literally the WORST example of a woman, period, it's really no wonder he keeps staring at Belle like she's a pod person.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I must confess I would have loved to see more like an actual confession of love and Belle's reaction to Mr Gold when the curse was cast! But I really enjoyed it nonetheless;-)

This is one of the best ‘Belle goes to the Dark Castle’ fics I’ve read. Very well done.

this story is such a lovely meditation on marriage and on relationships. i keep rereading it when i want something that won't be painful but will remind me to stretch myself in all my relationships with people, and seek, as you said, to share in their lives even when i cannot share in specifics like their work.
