| stevem1 chapter 15 . 7/27
This is a brilliant story.
Harry is a traumatized young boy who is abandoned at around age 6. He survives in the woods and convinces himself he is an elf (his first possibility was Greek god, which he quickly eliminated). It looks as if he actually becomes an elf overtime. His way of thinking is off center to say the least. His education is very eclectic, featuring wizards, house elves, centaurs, merpeople, portraits and ghosts.
His relationships with Draco, Hermione and Luna are exceedingly well detailed. Luna and Harry have this easy acceptance of one another. Draco is obviously a lonely, and likely parentally neglected, young boy who sees elf Harry as his only real friend. Hermione and Harry are hilarious, with Hermione and Harry sharing the same goal (elf liberty) but Hermione being order oriented and rule following while Harry spreads chaos in his wake. It stuns her for see that he’s far more effective.
The Ministry’s unwillingness to say You Know Who’s name backfires spectacularly when they enter a treaty with elf Harry.
This version of Harry obviously has every ounce of Lily’s brilliance but realized in a very non-tradition al environment.
This story of the best on this site. Highly recommended. Here’s hoping for a sequel.

Well, you did say that you'd try your best to not have the next sequel take three years. I guess that's technically accomplished.
That said, I really enjoyed this story. I particularly enjoyed his interactions with various non-humans. mermaids, centaurs, and such.

Well this was so much fun, an amazing story told in a fantastic style! Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this!
(It’s been years since you wrote last, I understand, life happens und such. Just wondering if your various open projects are still projects, just because you said 3 years and it’s going on 4 now...maybe you could put up a line or two so we know.)
Anyways I hope you are safe and healthy and doing well!

Yet again brilliant. Although I do worry about Fudge coming to collect his boon from Harry. I hope to one day read the next sequel!

""Oh god," you exclaim. "Three years from now, I suppose?"" This is such an amazing story and it's a shame it's been more than 3 years since you mentioned the potential sequel. I'm looking forward to reading it, if you ever post it!

I can't wait for Harry's reactions when he learns who You-Know-Who really is. Unless he does. Then I can't wait for when he beats him easily with an unnecessarily convoluted plan.

God, I love this story so much. It's so much fun to read, it explores parts of the HP world that are often neglected, it's like a fairytale story for wizards. I love Dumbledore and how quick he is to understand how Harry works and to adapt - this has to be one of the best depictions of Dumbledore in fanfiction. I love how we're immersed in Harry's worldview while also understanding how other characters feel. Most of all, I love Harry in this fiction. He could have been hard to like, with his unusual skills and his disdain of wizards, but you made him a very likeable character. He doesn't abide by wizarding customs but he still respects hierarchies (his respect for the centaurs, his understanding that the basilisk could kill him, his politeness towards beings), he's a bit of a Hermione fan even when she finds him weird, he sticks by his self-imposed rules... He's very alien but in a positive way. And it's so funny to see how, because he's Harry Potter, other characters have to dance to his tunes even when they think he's barmy (Snape, Fudge, Draco).
On the topic of his elfish nature, I truly think he's not fully human at this point in the story. At first it was a delusion but he's believed it for years now, magical creatures believe it, a growing number of wizards believe it or at least give him the benefit of the doubt. Magic is partly powered by belief, right? Too many magical beings are convinced he's an elf for him not to change in that direction. (That could be how some humanoid magical species started! Or many humans are an offshoot of a magical species, and Muggles lost their magic at some point?).
Anyway, I'm ready to eagerly wait for The Home Life and Social Habits of British Elves, should it take three or five years to happen. This story is too good to be forgotten in a mere half a decade.

Somehow I missed your last few updates. Perhaps you take after elf-Harry on how you consider time just a little too much. :)
Thank you for the wonderful story!

I guess that sequel never did come. Oh well, I hope your are alive and happy and fulfilled and one day I might enjoy your next adventure as much as I did this one.
