Oh my gosh, this was perfect. How can you get into Snape's head so thoroughly and still manage to make me laugh out loud? He is such a snarky a-hole and yet I lust have lol'd ten times while reading this. I love the way you have him view the world and the other characters; it always makes me view them in new and interesting ways. Good piece. :)

Yes he is, and that's of course very funny and endearing, and it threatened to make me say 'what a funny, humorous story' in the beginning, but having read it til the end, I noted what made you say that it almost turned into angst on you. He's such a good observer, and his internal remarks are witty and fun, but there's a lot of gallow's humour on his part, and we all know that his dark thoughts about his personal future are going to come true soon and that his life until that day will be lonely, dangerous and tantalising most of the time.
But anyway... the image of AD with egg in his beard, and new species evolving in the very depth of it is just great. I do love beards (easy, I don't have to wear one *g*9 , but that one really is a bit too much. Somebody should send an expedition team inside, I'm sure Hagrid would be the first to volunteer to rear some babies of the newfound species *lol*.
Didn't I say it before... now I'm sure you do corrupt me *evil grin* ... after having looked up the meaning of the word 'strap-on' in Wikipedia, and after having found some very interesting pictures and descriptions of the specific ways of using them I can only say ... oh well... never too late for an old woman to learn new technologies, right? (at least in theory!).
Thanks for the nice story!

This was pure fun to read :)! I really love his snarky and sarcastic musings, the best part being Dumbeldore's beard and its breeding species. The idea with the T-shirts is also great. The only person missing was Trelawney :). I like your subtle way in how you bring his growing fear for the upcoming war into the story. And the fact that he mentions Dumbeldore's prejudice against Slytherin house. This definitely let many of them join Voldemort in the first and second war, who would maybe have been reluctant otherwise. Anyway, this was lovely!

LOVE IT! Just perfect levels of snark for a morning, with or without the coffee :)
Another wonderful insight into Severus' head, which I think you got just right, coming from someone who has difficulty functioning properly til at least lunchtime, I completely understand the snark levels!
Laughed out loud at the 'small animals' in the beard (someone please do some fan art for that) and the t-shirts... Inspired my dear! Also love the comment about Luna just being herself!
Yet another wonderful treat x
Much love xxxx

the part about dumbledore's beard and moody's all-seeing eye had me laughing hard!
you managed to balance everything perfectly: how snarky, bitter, acidic, clever, observant he is, and above all, how lonely and insecure and unloved he feels. poor severus!
| JaneDoh0 chapter 1 . 9/18/2012
This was hilarious-I almost laughed out loud when Severus muses about Mad Eye and T-shirts.
| JeniDRalph chapter 1 . 9/18/2012
*snort* That was perfect. Thank you!
| Kazza chapter 1 . 9/18/2012
So in character and so deliciously snarky-Snape. Wonderful!
| BarbaraKaterina chapter 1 . 9/18/2012
Ha! I love the ending! Every time I hear Dancing Queen by ABBA and get all nostalgic because I'm not 17 anymore, I tell myself to go and read my old blogs or diary entries. It kills any nostalgy instantly. Terrible age, and 14 is even worse, naturally.
And by the way, "in the mornings"? I though he was like this all the time!
I loved the whole "despair hold at bay by sarcasm" theme, I can just see him doing it and I do believe it works - black humour is one of the best ways to cope with tragedy.
The casual Dickens and Shakespeare is just so (your) Severus, too.
Moody and looking under students' clothes - I thought about it, too. Real Moody might have had enough decency not to do it, but I'm pretty sure Barty Crouch didn't.
I could go on and on about the details I liked, so I'll just say that it has a very good Severus-ey atmosphere and that I can just see his face when reading it. :)

This is pure Snape. I like that there's no dialogue but you can tell people are trying to talk to him. It's very funny and totally reflects the character.
| MapleTreeway chapter 1 . 9/17/2012
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, didn't you Severus?
The ending line was a little angsty but you held back. Good job!
