I have to say that works like this make it seem more and more likely that Chells silience is voluntary. With the possible exception of her just waking up from a prolonged sleep, her silence makes sense as the one thing she controls. Granted being physically mute has its benefits. Test subjects with disabled vocal chords can't go tossing around paradoxes. And I still kind of wonder when after a while, she doesn't say at least something to Wheatley after all the help he at least attempts to give (pre-betrayal of course). Still, you have to wonder at what point GLaDOS decides to force the issue by placing Chell in a position where she either says something or dies. Maybe the next Portal perhaps?
