Arthur seems really dense in this one, I'm glad he finally caught on. Of course it's not a hypothetical idiot, that should be clear from the context.

This chapter was excellently written, showing such a tender moment between Merlin and Arthur - seeing Arthur's caring side towards Merlin was so heartwarming :) I love their brotherly friendship so much and you depicted it so well. I could not stop reading this once I started. Your writing style is lovely. The plot and the characters were so well thought out. Merlin and Arthur were spot on. Such an enjoyable and suspenseful read and I’m sad to be done with it.

This whole story is simply incredible! It's perfect! And the dedication it must have taken to write something so LONG is amazing! Love it so much

Hey, I really like the first chapter of your story. Interesting start, looks like a good plot is beginning and it's well written.
It's pretty clear that the other prisoner is Merlin, but I'm looking forward to seeing why he's there and what will happen when the two finally meet.

I meant to review earlier, really I did! But I was so hooked that I couldn't spare a moment to write something. Yes, I know, that was incredibly selfish of me but really if you're going to write such a compelling, beautifully written, vivid story what did you expect? Truly this is one of the best fanfic stories I have ever read -OF ANY FANDOM! This is a masterpiece and I hope that you write some books of your own; I'm sure they would be fantastic. Thanks for all your effort that you put into this story for I have enjoyed every minute of this journey you have taken us on.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful ending. I love that you'd kept it vague/generalized because it is more about reflection of the whole vs pointing out every instance where Merlin saves Arthur, etc. The reader can insert what they recall. I wish you well as you launch out with your dreams of your own universe if characters. 30 years ago I'd wished for that, but at this point I am satisfied to explore the mindscapes of others. As always, Merlin will still be waiting for you. Excelsior!

This was a beautiful chapter . Arthur saves Merlin, Merlin saves Arthur...it's like watching someone flip their metaphoric coin as it turns end over end with Arthur saving Merlin, the Merlin saving Arthur, spinning around after it hits the ground to finally stop on it's edge! In their improbable friendship.

I had wanted to review earlier, but find hard to do if chapters cliffhanger and I'm reading after an author may have finished reading. I can tell how your writing style has grown over the course of the story compared to say the first few chapters. It might be because this is the part everyone longs to read and focuses the most attention on. This is the anti-climax of your story arc. The climax being the death of the villain/rescue of the maiden (*ahem* Merlin) and now all the tying up of loose ends begins.

Anyways, I've greatly enjoyed the story and look forward to the ending and hope you've decided to keep Owyn's character in reserve for future stories. Keep writing

Okay so here's the thing. I actually started reading this when it first came out, but after a while I got busy and lost track of it and never finished it. So...well, I stayed up until 6 am (or later) three nights in a row literally reading this entire fic on my phone, and let me tell you, it's even better than I remembered it being. Like absolutely, mind-blowing, intricately, incredible. The story was amazing, but the writing was on point. I haven't really read fanfiction in a while (I'm ridiculously picky in terms of writing style) but this has plunged me headfirst back into Merlin again, and BOY did it make me scream, oh my god. I am absolutely in love with this work and thoroughly impressed with the length, good lord. Thank you so much for sharing this incredible story with us, and your talents. Also, I would give my left leg to protect Owyn from the world oml

I just reread the second half of this fic again, and I half to say that it's just as good as I remember it being! The first half is equally good, of course, I just didn't have time to reread the whole thing. But yeah, this fic is awesome, so don't forget that you're a great writer!
