I cannot express how good this story is honestly the best HTTYD fanfic I have ever read

I am 34 and read this as hace just showed my daughter the HTTYD films etc. I am blown away by your writing skills and also ability to paint a picture with your descriptions. Well done xx i have not read any official HTTYD books yet but I really am amazed that yours is available online for free. Thank you.

I love the entire story. Even though English isn't your first language (I think I understood that correctly) I really think you need to write more. this is amazing and my favorite. thank you for writing this.

One of its own kind

I know I'm extremely late to this but I just finished it all and this story is beautiful, I know it's like a re-telling of your own style of the first movie but IMO it's honestly even better than the actual movie, especially the parts with , the relationship building between Hiccstrid and AstridToothless, and the other members of the gang(especially Tuff) toward the end when they come to realize just how wrong and terrible they treated Hiccup and how much respect they had for him after what'd he'd done. Tuffnuts and Fishlegs like "chapters" I guess you could call it on page 2627(I believe) nearly had me in tears, this was honestly amazing.

i read this years ago and loved it, and now i just came back to reread it and i love it just as much. i’m so glad it’s still up and available to reread. thanks for this fic

It's so odd how a marriage between two 14 year olds makes perfect sense in those days.
With even the common cold being an infamous killer to the point of sneezing being a bad sign in the Nordic countries. You were never guaranteed to see the next year. You had to marry early and preferably have kids early. The longer you put it off the less likely you were to have a family.

But I'm not defending child marriage, even back then, only offering explanations. Kids shouldn't marry, they should be playing.

Oh no, poor Hiccup!

Almost 10 years later and this fic wouldve aged well. Everything was perfect! The pacing, the characterization of the gang and the addition of their softer sides was so well executed. The way each scene was described so simple and short yet so beautifully effective was nothing short of a masterclass in writing.

I don't know if you would still even read this but all I wanted to say is It was an honor to have this story as my first HTTYD fanfic to read and now I'm looking forward for more like this.

I dont know if you even read your reviews but I gotta say. Even after 10 years this is one of if not my favorite story in the HTTYD Fandom. its really just amazing
