I thought this scene was one of the more powerful ones during the episode. I like how you've expanded upon it. We can see better where Duke is coming from and how his father influences him, even though he's said more than once that he's not his father.

Awww, sad Duke. One of the interesting things about Haven and the Duke/Nathan interaction for me is that they seem to be playing it "real". Nathan doesn't always say the right thing even though he's a good guy, Duke doesn't always deserve what he gets, both have an underlying caring for one another, but past interactions and present fears crop up at the most inappropriate times. Thank you for expanding on that and bringing attention to it. (Now I feel like writing a tome on their friendship/rivalry/antagonism!)
